Carlos's POV
"Alright, I'm putting my faith in you and your judgment, Miguel," I said, attempting to settle my nerves.
Yet something gnawed at me, this persistent unease I couldn't shake. The thought that Miguel might view Grace as more than just a client—maybe even as dating material or wife potential—kept circling through my mind. After all, the guy was already pushing his mid-thirties.
I recognized how irrational this worry was, knew it was all mental noise. Still, I couldn't find any peace.
"Won't take much time, I swear," Miguel promised. "But there's something I need to ask you, Carlos."
"Shoot."
"About Grace—are you dead set on marrying her?" Miguel's tone shifted, becoming sharper, more intense as we discussed Grace. "She's in her early thirties, about to be divorced. If you're just looking for some fun, maybe you should back off now, Carlos."
