Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: But...I'm an orphan

On the way back, I was lost in thought, my heart heavy. Even though I tried to force myself not to think about Ta Quan Hanh, his image still lingered in my mind, making it impossible for me to stop. Lost in thought, I didn't notice that a motorbike was coming in front of me.

When I suddenly came to my senses, then... boom! I fell to the ground. My arms and legs were in sharp pain, some scratches, my elbows were bleeding, and my face was also scratched... The fall made me dizzy, I couldn't stand up right away. The motorcyclist also fell, but luckily he was fine. She hurriedly ran over, her voice panicked:

"Ah... are you okay? Are you in a lot of pain?"

I looked at her gritting her teeth in pain, trying to shake my head, her voice trembling slightly:

"I... I'm okay."

But the scratches on her elbow and then some other places made her startled, her voice trembling with worry:

"Oh my god… you're really injured! It's so bad… let me call someone to help…"

I quickly reached out to stop her:

"Miss… please don't call, I'm fine…"

She paused, looked at me for a moment then reluctantly nodded, but still gently helped me sit up:

"Okay… my house is nearby. Let me take you home, bandage it first."

I was about to refuse, but her eyes looked at me resolutely, not giving up, so I nodded, a strange feeling of warmth spread in my heart and thought:

"I didn't expect… besides A Hanh, there are still… good people like this?"

When I arrived at her house, I was a bit stunned. The house was spacious, spacious, and the interior was bright. There was even a servant who came out to greet me:

"Miss, welcome back…"

Seeing me, a handsome young man with a face and limbs covered in scratches and bruises in many places, the maid was speechless:

"Ah… this person…?"

The mistress immediately said, her voice warm but hurried:

"It was the person I accidentally bumped into. You guys go get some warm water and bandage her wounds."

The servant quickly brought me inside, carefully washing each wound, and bandaging each scratch. When everything was done, the maid left, leaving the mistress sitting down beside me, her eyes filled with worry:

"Are you still in pain?"

I shook my head, trying to smile:

"Yes… it's okay."

She asked again, her voice gentle, her hand pulling out the phone as if preparing to dial:

"Do you remember your parents' phone number? I'll call them, they'll probably be worried."

I lowered my eyes, my heart a little quiet, thinking: "Parents…isn't this a luxury word for me…?"

My voice was still the same, but if you listened closely, you could hear a bit of sadness in it when I said:

"But I'm… an orphan."

She paused, the action of dialing the phone to find the number also stopped as her eyes met mine, a little sad. She scratched her head, her voice gentle:

"I… am sorry. Did that question make you sad?"

I shook my head, my voice soft:

"No... it's not a big deal..."

She looked closely at my beautiful face but it had an unpredictable sadness, the injuries were all over my body, but she was still calm, her heart was filled with sorrow, thinking: "This child is so pitiful..."

After a while of silence, she gently smiled, her warm voice trying to dispel this sad atmosphere:

"Oh right, my name is Lam Ky An, I'm very happy to meet you..."

I looked up slightly to see her with a warm smile, looking at me, reaching out my hand as if wanting to get to know me. I was a bit surprised, then my nose was a little sore. After a while, I also took her hand and smiled brightly in response: "My name is Lam Tich Da, I'm also... very happy to meet you..."
