Chapter 8 - build a corpse

Corpses lie at my feet as I cut them apart, taking their largest bones, discarding anything that can't create my desired behemoth. I turn all the skin from three bodies into leather for the stitches and use the bones as a base, starting from the legs. I tie bones like the tibia, femur, and humerus together using rope to form a strong leg to form the foot. I use bones like the fibula and talus, gathering them from the different bodies to create a new foundation. Without a solid foundation, it won't be effective and will fall quickly both in combat and while walking. I carve the runes onto the bone while I make it to ensure that in battle, it cannot be disabled without serious effort from the enemy. I will also do it after I put the skin on, but onto the bone will be more advantageous. To form the pelvis, I use multiple broken ribcages and pelvises to form one about the size I need, while keeping it around the same size and strength as the rest of the bones so far.

I hear a sound from upstairs and go to see what it is, with zombies behind me from a distance, and it's those three again. I approach them; they did at least make a noise, so I could hear them before they came into my base. "What do you want now?" It's annoying that they are here at all, but not letting them have medicine could lead to desperation, which could cause them to discover the zombies if they break in, or even burn the building down out of spite. "We need penicillin, Sir." Just penicillin? That's an antibiotic, but none of them seem to be injured. "Could you tell me why none of you seems to be hurt?" "We joined up with the group at the park, and some people have infections, so we came here to see if we could get some penicillin because someone was a nurse here and knew that it was something that could be treated with it, I guess." I have been using antibiotics to keep me from getting an infection, like as the bite or the burns, but I couldn't use all the medicine if I tried, but they could come here for more in the future. But they have the mage on their side, and I know I can't beat him. he can tell I'm a necromancer, I swear he just has no proof. It's worrying, but I need to keep him away and giving the medicine to them now does that. "Wait here, I'll get it for you." I hurry off to a nearby supply closet, which might have it, but I don't know because everyone who worked here was incompetent even at keeping track of where stuff was. There are three bottles of pills. I grab one and go back, hand it over, and leave, returning to the morgue.

I grab a hammer and some nails I got from the hardware store, and start adding the muscles using a book on muscle anatomy. I start with the feet going up. I first figure out the length of muscle needed to find one from the piles of flesh or rip one out of the bodies before putting it there unstretched and attaching it to the bone. I get to around the thighs before I'm out of ones that are the right length, the sizes needed for it do exist in all bodies, but in few supply, and that's the problem, so that means I need more bodies than exist within the hospital at the current moment. I'm going to have the zombies pull in bodies from the local area, stopping at night to avoid the adult wolf, but this does pose a problem of causing people to notice the bodies being pulled into the hospital. And that happening might cause people to investigate, but if I finish the golem, and beat the wolf i can put some of the worries aside because even if the great mage tries to fight me i will probably either have a chance to beat him or get away he seems to want to help people and so if he was at full power this city would not be in the state it is.

After a few days, I have the lower half fully finished except for one thing. I grab a fancy writing pen, one with a sharp tip, and stab it with the pen over and over to get the ink into it, creating a tattoo of the runes instead of just carving it into the body, meaning even if the part gets cut, there is a chance for it to be able to use it instead of the rune failing.

Armor and weaponry for it will be problematic, but I might be able to find some that can at least fit or be somewhat usable. But why put the armor over the skin where they can see where not to aim? Why not hide it under the skin, while I build it a hood for a car that should fit the chest area, and bending other metal should get me similar results, but it could cause problems in rigidity.

For a weapon, the best fit would be a sledgehammer, although it would be more like a mace for it instead of a two-handed weapon, and my zombies can't really use shields without it getting in their way.

I have another problem of not knowing if the wolf his strong enough to bite through steel. If so, this entire thing means nothing, but I should try from what I've seen, I can hide from it, and it's slow enough that I can run. but if it could break through steel or concrete, I would most likely see more damage than just a few buildings. its been sleeping in the subway, I think everything that goes down there dies, so that's the logical place for it to be, but also so extremely annoying.
