Chapter 31 - 30. Guardian Commander Leon's Mission, the Unseen Battle

Episode 112: Guardian Commander Leon's Mission, the Unseen Battle

While Prince Rian and Princess Lia were confronting the enemy on the front lines and resolving incidents, Leon, now promoted to Guardian Commander, was commanding the support troops from the rear. His mission was to aid Rian and Lia's operations by cutting off the enemy's supply lines and disrupting their movements from behind.

In the night-shrouded forest, Leon and his team of skilled warriors moved silently, closing in on the enemy's main camp. Amidst the tension of battle, they each knew their roles well, quietly steadying their breaths as they awaited Leon's command. His gaze was firm, filled with a resolve for the impending fight.

"While the Prince and Princess draw their attention at the front, we will sever the enemy's supply route from behind," Leon's low command echoed in the darkness, and the warriors nodded with determined expressions. They were a team of seasoned soldiers, and Leon's words ignited a fire of resolve within them.

The moment they ambushed the supply depot, Leon brandished his sharp sword and began to swiftly overpower the enemy. His attacks were both powerful and precise. The warriors moved in concert with him, efficiently dispatching the enemies. Each fulfilled their role faithfully, complementing one another like a well-oiled machine.

Leon took a deep breath, assessing the flow of the battle. "More enemies are coming from the left! Move that way!" As his command fell, the warriors moved swiftly. Their enhanced combat techniques flashed sharply, and his fellow warriors moved organically, covering his back. Amid the tension of the fight, Leon's movements remained calm and decisive.

With the supply depot destroyed, the disoriented enemies began to flee in panic. After striking down the last remaining foe, Leon took a moment to catch his breath and surveyed the area. His warriors were already with him, clearing the scene, and the faint moonlight cast their shadows across the night sky. Just then, Leon noticed a wounded warrior kneeling.

"Are you alright?" Leon asked, approaching him.

"Yes, Commander," the warrior replied with a pained smile. "We won because you led us."

Leon smiled and helped him to his feet. "Your courage was a great strength to us. We won this together, and we must continue to fight together."

After the battle was over, Leon turned to his warriors and said in a low voice, "The reason Prince Rian and Princess Lia could fight on the front lines is because every one of us here fulfilled our duty." At his words, the warriors met each other's eyes and nodded, exchanging brief smiles and encouraging pats on the back.

As a Guardian Commander, Leon was their support, their unseen shield. Now, with these young warriors, he felt an even greater sense of responsibility to protect Elysium. Vowing to always be the one watching their backs, he sheathed his sword and turned to leave.

"We must all continue to lend our strength to one another. No matter what challenges come next, we are never alone," Leon said once more.

The warriors, feeling a renewed sense of unity, nodded to each other again. Their cooperation had deepened, and they realized that their shared resolve would be a great strength in overcoming the aftereffects of battle.

"The next operation will begin soon. Everyone, be careful," Leon urged as a final reminder, and they returned to their respective roles to face the new challenge.

As a Guardian of Elysium, his journey had just begun, and Leon was ready to continue down this path, his resolve stronger than ever.

Episode 113: Battle on the Airship, the Guardian Commander's Resolve

Having been promoted to Guardian Commander, Leon was tasked with guarding Prince Rian and Princess Lia, accompanying them on an airship bound for the continent of Celesta. That morning, along with his awe at seeing an airship for the first time, Leon felt a sense of tension about the mission ahead.

The airship's deck floated beneath the vast sky, and the salty scent of the sea, carried on the wind, enveloped him. The airship itself seemed to float leisurely, flying by magic, but Leon's heart was filled with vigilance. "Will we arrive safely?" he muttered to himself.

"Don't worry, Leon. We will arrive safely," Rian said with a smile, having noticed his concern. Lia, beside him, also nodded. "We've always fought together, haven't we? We'll get through whatever comes our way."

While the airship was sailing smoothly, a warning siren suddenly blared. "Enemy approaching!" The crew's voices added to the tension. Leon quickly checked the positions of the guard personnel and took action. "Everyone, maintain battle readiness! Secure our safety!"

Rian and Lia immediately prepared for battle. Rian gripped his greatsword, his expression resolute as he faced the enemy. "The enemy is approaching the airship. I will go out first and attack!"

"Be careful, Rian!" Lia warned, but he was already charging in the direction of the enemy. Leon watched them fight, focusing on his duty to ensure the airship's safety from the rear.

The enemies who boarded the airship were sky pirates; their eyes were sharp, and their weapons glinted keenly. Rian raised his greatsword high and shouted, "Sweep of the Greatsword!" as he charged them. The force emanating from his blade swept across the area, sending the enemies flying.

Lia seized the opportunity to cast her magic. "Spear of Ice!" An ice spear formed in mid-air and shot toward the enemies, freezing several of them and changing the tide of the battle.

Leon, beside them, protected the airship, ensuring no enemies could breach its defenses. He and the guard personnel quickly deployed to protect the airship's interior, keeping a vigilant watch to block any enemy approach.

"Protect the airship!" From the rear, Leon and his warriors formed a defensive line to repel enemy attacks. His resolute demeanor gave strength to his comrades, and they prepared for battle together.

As the enemies focused on Rian and Lia, Leon knew he had to do his best to protect them. "Prince Rian, Princess Lia, I will guard your backs, so fight safely!" Leon shouted.

Rian briefly fell back to check on Leon. "We're fine! But we need you to protect us!"

"Understood!" With firm resolve, Leon adopted an even stronger defensive stance to ensure the airship's safety.

The battle grew fierce, and Rian and Lia focused on dispatching the enemies, unleashing their power. Leon, however, remained committed to his duty of protecting the airship and its guard personnel rather than fighting alongside them.

Finally, when the enemies were suppressed to the point of no return, Rian and Lia unleashed a final, combined blow. "Magic Combination!" The power of the two merged into one, instantly crushing the enemies.

After the battle, Leon let out a sigh of relief, pleased that he had fulfilled his role. "We did it!" he exclaimed, and the surrounding guards cheered with him.

Rian approached and said, "Thank you, Leon. Without your dedication, it would have been difficult for us to fight safely."

Lia also nodded and said, "Thank you so much, Leon. This battle would have been far more dangerous without you."

Leon replied with a humble smile. "I am here to protect you. This is a victory we all achieved together."

As the airship sailed safely toward the continent of Celesta, Leon reflected on Rian and Lia's abilities and his own role, preparing for the journey ahead. This battle had instilled in him a greater sense of responsibility and confirmed that he was fulfilling his duties as a Guardian Commander.

Episode 114: The Way Home

Having completed his mission on the continent of Celesta, Leon boarded the ship back to Elysium. The tension from the airship battle still lingered, but now, the feeling of heading home was replaced by a sense of comfort. As he felt the wind and sailed across the sea, Leon reflected on the meaning of the word "home."

"Home is the place I can truly return to," Leon thought, his mind filled with images of his homeland and his beloved family. The missions of combat and protection were over; now was the time to find solace in the embrace of his family.

When the ship finally docked at the port, Leon hurried home. His steps felt light, and his heart was filled with excitement. As his home drew closer, the sound of his children's laughter seemed to grow clearer in his ears.

"Daddy!" The children's voices wrapped around Leon's heart like a warm blanket. The door swung open, and his two children ran to his side. "Daddy, Daddy!" Their pure laughter brought him immense happiness.

"I'm back!" Leon said, scooping up his children and feeling a surge of joy as he held their small, warm bodies. As they snuggled into his arms, rubbing their faces against him, Leon smiled lovingly. "Did you miss Daddy a lot?"

The children nodded. "Yes! We waited a long time!" they replied. Leon felt his heart melt at their answer. He was reminded once again of what a great blessing it was to be here, to have his loving family by his side.

"I'll make your favorite for dinner tonight!" Serena called out as she prepared the meal in the kitchen. Her voice was filled with warm affection.

Leon replied with a happy expression, "I'm really looking forward to it, Serena." He then helped with the dinner preparations, cherishing the precious time with his family.

After dinner, Leon went to the children's room to put them to bed. He tucked them into their soft blankets, told them a story, and stayed by their side until they fell asleep. Gazing at their faces, Leon prayed that their dreams would be bright and happy.

"Daddy, will you play with us again tomorrow?" one of the children asked with sleepy eyes.

"Of course. And tomorrow, Daddy will tell you even more stories," Leon replied with a smile. It was only after the children had fallen asleep that Leon truly realized he was home.

He went out to the living room to spend some precious time with Serena. "Serena, it seems the children were waiting for a long time today."

"They were. It seems they missed their daddy," Serena replied with a smile. The two looked into each other's eyes, feeling that they were building a home filled with love and stability.

"It feels so good to be home again, so comfortable," Leon said, a deep sense of gratitude in his heart. Serena felt the same. They were ready to create many more happy moments together in this home.

Now, Leon would draw new strength from his daily life with his precious family, preparing for the missions that lay ahead.

Episode 115: Guardian of the Northern Fortress

As his new mission as Guardian Commander began, Leon was assigned to the northern fortress of Elysium. The fortress was located in a perilous region, where enemy incursions and sporadic battles often occurred. Leon was tasked with looking after the soldiers' welfare and boosting their morale.

As the morning sun rose and the fortress gates opened, Leon began the day with his soldiers. "I expect each of you to carry out your duties well again today," he said in a powerful voice. "We are the guardians who protect this place. Every role is important, so I ask that you all do your best!" The soldiers, empowered by his words, nodded in response.

For his first task, Leon decided to patrol the area around the fortress. He and his fellow warriors moved through the surroundings, remaining vigilant for any suspicious signs or enemy movements. During the patrol, Leon spoke with local residents and learned of recent unusual signs. "There have been reports from residents of strange noises and shadows at night. We must investigate the cause," Leon said with a resolute expression.

His soldiers moved with an even greater sense of caution following his words. If the fortress's safety was threatened, their mission would have to shift from simple defense to a component of both defense and offense. Leon maintained his focus, determined not to miss even the smallest change in his surroundings.

That evening, Leon prepared a small feast to boost the soldiers' morale. "Today, let's gather and have a moment of respite," Leon said, gathering the soldiers. "We are comrades living together in a difficult situation, so let's use this time to encourage one another for our hard work."

The soldiers were moved by Leon's warm words and happily shared food and stories. This time meant more to them than just a simple break. "Thanks to you, Commander, we feel strengthened," one soldier said to Leon. "The hardships at the fortress seem bearable now."

Leon felt a sense of pride at their response. "The reason I can trust and rely on you is because you are all here. As long as we are together, we can overcome any difficulty." At his words, the soldiers looked at one another, feeling a sense of camaraderie.

As the night deepened, Leon remained focused on the fortress's perimeter. In a situation where anything could happen at any moment, he was committed to doing his best in his duty. This fortress was not just a defensive outpost; it was a crucial stronghold protecting the safety of Elysium.

In his heart, the vow to protect his family and comrades was always present. As he guarded the northern fortress, Leon felt the heavy responsibility of a Guardian Commander and was prepared to walk the path ahead.
