Chapter 127 - Chapter 128: Wings of Wind, the Fools Who Got Shot

"You're here!" In the morning, Amber stood beneath the Statue of The Seven in the plaza and saw Alex approaching.

"As per our agreement, I've arrived," Alex nodded.

Amber nodded, then looked at the many Knights of Favonius guards in the plaza, who were investigating passersby one by one, asking what they were doing last night.

Amber's face showed difficulty; she hadn't expected that on the second day of meeting a new friend, when she had planned to give him a good tour of Mondstadt, this incident would occur... "Do you know? Just last night, the lyre of the heavens, a Mondstadt artifact that had been stored in the church's basement, was stolen!"

Alex looked very surprised: "Ah? Who? Who would steal the lyre of the heavens for fun? How much Mora is that worth to steal?"

"It's just an ancient item that has been passed down for a long time. If you really calculate its worth, it's not even worth a single Mora! The person who stole the lyre of the heavens must be so foolish, it's truly a once-in-a-century occurrence," Amber said, still somewhat disbelieving that such a thing could happen.

Alex listened, then fell silent, his face darkening.

That's right, the lyre of the heavens was currently in his backpack; he was the thief.

It happened so quickly! He succeeded in an instant, then Alex immediately teleported home.

It wasn't until morning that Alex reappeared in the main plaza.

"Never mind that for now, here! This is a Wind Glider," Amber said, pulling out the grey-black Starter Wind Glider in front of Alex.

Seeing Alex take it, Amber folded his arms and looked at him, saying, "Alright, hurry up and try out the Wind Glider's performance! Although it's very simple to operate, you must listen to my instructions."

Then the two came to the edge of the plaza and stood on the stone steps.

Amber clapped his hands and patiently said to Alex, "Okay, now stand here, equip your Wind Glider, jump, and open it. Relax, it's not high, you'll get the hang of it after a few tries."

"Understood!" Alex nodded, then jumped down.

The next moment, the Wind Glider appeared behind him, and Alex clearly felt himself continuously gliding forward.

Seeing Alex so skilled, Amber almost felt like he wasn't using it for the first time: "Not bad, not bad! Keep it up..."

Along the way, Alex flew in front, with Amber following closely behind him to prevent any accidents.

Soon, this long journey ended, and the two arrived by a small fountain near the Crafting Bench.

"Clap, clap, clap!" Amber watched Alex land steadily and immediately clapped his hands in praise.

"I didn't realize you'd pick it up so quickly. Want to try a little competition with me?" Amber said, a little eager to try.

She felt Alex would be a good opponent.

"Let's talk about it when I have time," Alex waved his hand, as he would likely be very busy until the Traveler completed the Mondstadt main quest.

Amber nodded, his long red hair swaying with the movement: "Alright, you go ahead and try it out more yourself..."

"Oh, and take this Flight Manual. To fly freely in Mondstadt, you need to pass a flight license exam first!" Amber finished, handing Alex a thin book.

Alex took it; it was indeed titled the Knights of Favonius Flight Manual.

"After you've read it, go find me at Windrise outside Mondstadt. Unless something unexpected happens, I'll be patrolling and scouting in that area for a while," Amber said, then prepared to say goodbye.

"Then I'm off to work. See you next time. I'll be in charge of your flight license assessment," Amber said, then walked away, out of the city and out of sight.

"Okay!" Alex nodded; he also had things he needed to do.

First, he now had the lyre of the heavens, but the Anemo element power within it was very weak and needed replenishment.

He wasn't good at replenishing Anemo element. If it were Hydro element, he might have some way, directly going to Focalors.

It seemed this step still required the Traveler to purify it and obtain the powerful tears rich in Anemo element!

It was also at this moment that Alex heard the movement and greetings of guards from above: "Hey, you two Fatui! Come over here!"

"Tell us, what were you two doing last night?" the guard asked.

"We didn't do anything! We were both sleeping in the inn," one of the Fatui cried out in protest.

After another round of questioning that yielded no useful information, the guard left, moving on to the next person.

How unlucky! Someone actually got a head start on stealing the lyre of the heavens!

They hadn't even finalized the plan, and the time wasn't right. Now what? How would they explain this to 'The Lady'?

"Heh~" Alex chuckled to himself, good, good, the blame had been shifted to the villainous Fatui.

For a time, it would be difficult to trace the lyre of the heavens to him, an outsider.

Even if he encountered an interrogation, he could say he solved a puzzle and slept in the Wolvendom Domain.

Then, Alex slowly walked towards the Mondstadt city gate. As he passed Katheryne, he suddenly remembered that he still had four commissions, and since he had nothing to do today, he should quickly finish them.

And also... Alex said, arriving at the Blacksmith Shop.

A familiar name appeared in his mind, and Alex instantly spoke it: "Wagner, boss... I want to mine too, what should I do? Why can't I break crystal ore with a Sword and a Claymore?"

"Clang!" Wagner delivered his final hammer blow, then paused to answer.

What did he just hear? Someone was actually trying to break crystal ore with a Sword and a Claymore???

What kind of bizarre behavior was this?

Even if it could be done, it would be time-consuming and laborious, and the mined ore would probably be shattered.

Wagner still patiently explained: "To mine crystal ore, of course, you need a pickaxe! Using a pickaxe is not only fast and convenient, but most importantly, the minerals extracted with a pickaxe will remain as intact as possible."

"Good heavens!" Alex repeated those three words. Why did it have to be this way? Wouldn't it be better if he could just hack at it like in a game?

"Alright, do you have any finished pickaxes? I'll buy one."

Finally, Alex bought a pickaxe from Wagner. As for the finished weapons he introduced and displayed, Alex directly refused to buy them.

The weapons in this shop were really useless, all one-star or two-star.

"If the customer isn't satisfied with these weapons, he can also collect some precious materials himself, then come to me, and I will forge them for him," Wagner then said.

"Okay, there will be many blueprints in the future. I can come to you to forge them," Alex nodded, agreeing.

Having solved the mining problem, Alex arrived at the entrance of the main bridge in Mondstadt.

"Flap flap ~ Flap flap ~"

As soon as Alex stepped onto the bridge, the pigeons gathered on it scattered and flew away.

"Why are you still here?" Timmie said impolitely.

He had clearly told Big Sister Amber yesterday that he had seen him and informed Big Sister Amber of his whereabouts.

So, he wasn't a big bad guy being hunted down by Big Sister Amber after all.

What a pity, Timmie shook his head inwardly.
