Chapter 155 - Chapter 156: Weapon Upgrades During Mining

The time spent drinking with Venti passed quickly.

Then, for the entire afternoon, Alex wandered outside Mondstadt.

He visited Starsnatch Cliff, Starfell Lake, and Starsnatch Cliff.

During this time, he acquired ten purple experience books and several blue ones.

Most importantly, today, Alex started working as a miner!

He wandered around Starsnatch Cliff for a long time, and with his pickaxe, he managed to chip off over a dozen Crystal Chunks, White Iron Chunks, and Iron Chunks.

The bad news was that this was the limit; Alex couldn't remember the mining spots at all, as he really didn't lack them in the later stages!

However, he remembered more mining spots in Liyue than in Mondstadt.

Alex particularly liked the mining spot located on Mt. Tianheng, close to Liyue Harbor; he loved going there because that area truly had a lot of ore!

Returning to the Blacksmith Shop, Alex handed all the ore to Wagner for processing; fortunately, it only cost some Mora, and there was no quantity limit.

Seeing that Wagner wasn't busy and immediately started processing for him, Alex directly asked about the distribution of mining spots.

"You want to inquire about places that produce ore, right? You're quite lazy!" Wagner's hammer kept striking, still clanging away.

Subsequently, Wagner only told Alex the general location: "Go to Wolvendom; there are some mines nearby that often produce ore!"

"Can I have a map?" Alex asked tentatively, wondering why Wagner wouldn't just mark it for him.

"You wish!" Wagner firmly refused.

Good heavens, are you possessed by a fox too!

Alex rolled his eyes and said, "I'll add Mora."

Wagner's tone instantly changed: "Alright, boss! I'll draw it out on the map for you right away."

Alex took the map, and his memory instantly returned.

Yes, yes, the points he marked were correct.

Looking at this map, Alex also remembered something extra.

There was the Brightcrown Canyon east of Stormterror's Lair, and the Hilichurl camp east of Dawn Winery.

Both places had good mineral resources.

Alex immediately started running without a word.

For the rest of the afternoon, Alex was mining, also taking the opportunity to clear out the Hilichurl camps at the mining spots.

Alex put his hands on his hips, thinking he had done a good deed!

Returning to Wagner, Alex received Fine Enhancement Ore, Enhancement Ore, and Mystic Enhancement Ore from Wagner. These were white one-star, green two-star, and blue three-star materials, respectively.

Looking at the weapons in his hand, primarily his five-star weapon skyward harp.

Alex thought for a moment, and in the end, he gave all the ore to the Refinement 5 harbinger of dawn.

Firstly, bows are difficult to master, and Swords are hard to aim accurately. Secondly, as a three-star weapon, harbinger of dawn consumes fewer resources.

In the early stages, a three-star weapon is pretty much sufficient. Besides, harbinger of dawn is only slightly lacking in attack stats.

Currently, Alex still prefers to carry two Swords. He'll switch when he gets a new five-star weapon later.

Soon, after consuming materials, harbinger of dawn ascended to Level 50.

He wanted to continue leveling it up, but both the ore materials and weapon ascension materials were insufficient.

Then Alex discovered another frustrating point.

This weapon required a prerequisite to ascend past Level 50. And that requirement, unsurprisingly, was tied to his own level.

Note: To ascend harbinger of dawn past Level 50, the character must first ascend past Level 50.

Alex put his hands on his hips, staring at harbinger of dawn.

Indeed, in games, weapon enhancements are usually restricted by Adventure Rank and level.

Alex couldn't enhance it any further this time. He used the remaining less than ten processed ores to level up skyward harp.

After waiting a while at Wagner's, new Enhancement Ore appeared.

skyward harp was leveled up to 40. There was still some ore, but not enough weapon ascension materials.

Helpless, Alex went to the Wolvendom Weapon Domain again.

In the end, Alex only managed to get skyward harp to 43.

Darn it, now I'm out of ore again... Early-game resources are really scarce.

As evening approached, Alex sat alone on the hands of the Statue of The Seven, tallying his day's gains.

At this moment, he actually had over four thousand Primogems in his hand.

It was clear that in less than half a day, he had earned a lot in Mondstadt, and the drink shop in Fontaine had also earned him a lot!

My goodness, this was an income of over four thousand Primogems a day!

It was truly unimaginable; he hoped this initial peak could last for a long time!

These Primogems were really easy to earn!

Alex's face was beaming with joy! This was so much better than his previous diligent routine of logging in daily for 60 Primogems and then logging off.

"Good, good," Alex clapped his hands repeatedly, happy with his thoughts.

This was the joy of being a Primogem capitalist!

Just as Alex was smugly contemplating his good fortune, a sudden "Hee-hoo~" came from behind him.

"This place is really hard to climb," the small mascot flying in the sky said in a soft, adorable voice.

Lumine clapped her hands, stood on the arm of the Statue of The Seven, and rolled her eyes at Paimon: "Paimon, you just fly, what do you know? This isn't hard to climb at all!"

"Hmph, what I meant was to praise how amazing you are!" Paimon said proudly, hands on her hips.

"Ah, it's Lumine and Paimon. Why are you two here too?" Alex turned around in surprise, then shifted his body to sit on the left hand side.

Lumine then sat on the right hand of the Statue of The Seven.

The next moment, Lumine noticed that the Anemo element within her body was flowing much more actively.

Lumine looked at her hands, then expressed her thoughts: "I feel like as soon as I sat up here, the Anemo element became much more friendly."

"And hey~~~ look~" Lumine then rummaged in her embrace, and five shining Primogems appeared in her hand.

These Primogems had also suddenly appeared in her embrace, as Lumine had just felt them.

Alex instantly turned green with envy when he saw them: "Primogems!!! Really?! Why don't I get any when I sit here!"

"These Primogems appeared so strangely," Paimon said helplessly, shrugging her shoulders.

"Wuwu. This is a hidden achievement: Favored by the Anemo God... I really envy Lumine, you can even gain Anemo affinity by sitting here. As expected of our protagonist." Alex finished speaking, looking at Lumine with great envy.

"How am I a protagonist? Speaking of which, aren't you the one who transmigrated to Teyvat? And it's your first time. I think you are." Lumine said, shaking her head, then added: "My brother and I have experienced countless worlds. We probably can't be the protagonist of this world."

"No, no, no! In novels, even those who transmigrate through countless worlds are still protagonists. In the game, you are also the protagonist." Alex shook his head.

Paimon listened to the two of them deferring to each other, and finally spoke directly: "What protagonist, protagonist. You two are both protagonists, alright? Aren't there novels with dual protagonists? What's more, you two can perfectly be each other's male and female protagonists, can't you?"
