Uh.....
Blinking a few times, then looking at myself then back to the others, the beast tanks having paused shooting as well and similarly looking at anastasia then the now dead testcoon then back...
*silence, cough cough....*
As i peek out with johan next to anastasia.
The battle having been halted...
The commander whistling and the girls having stopped firing and looking at anastasia with various confused or shocked faces.
"Well... if you are just gonna stand there..."
I shift my aim to another one of the closer test coons and fire.
Bang.
As the girls watch another shell fly through the air and strike the testcoon anastasia was aiming at on its side, crippling it.
As it gives a pained cry and grunt, snapping the beast tanks out of their weird stupor, and with multiple roars and cries as they start shooting back and some continuing to rush in snapping the girls out of their own stupor aswell as they too return fire.
Boom. Boom. Bang. Bang. Boom. Bang. Boom.
With anastasia now aiding deal with the smaller targets, somehow. The commander rushes back to the crater and ducking down to where both of me are in.
"Hey." The commander says once he was safely ducked inside.
"Yo, don't mind us we just wanted to help" as Johan checks the ammo left inside the turret on anastasia's shoulder.
The commander laughs, "i can see that, we'll talk later but for now take out those test coons so the others can focus on the gorrilas and monkey's"
"Got it" as anastasia ducks down back into the crater to dodge an incoming shell that fell short.
"Good. The herd is thinning out, it won't be long now." As the commander shouts some commands to the girls after peeking out the crater.
As both of me checks the remaining shells inside the turret. "The turret only has a few shells left, we won't be able to do anything afterwards."
"That's fine, i wasn't expecting you two to be doing this in the first place. Just stay back and hide once that thing runs dry." As the commander then jumps out of the crater and rushes back to where he was shouting commands from earlier.
Nodding to myself, i help hoist the turret steady on anastasia's shoulder again.
"Well this is a good experience still none the less."
"Eh atleast you... no wait.. i.. hmm nevermind."
...
A while later...
As the last of the beast tanks now running away or being shot down the battle is essentially finished.
With the girls returning to regroup, i peek out the crater, having long emptied the shells of the turret and tossing it back into the crater and examining it more afterwards.
As the commander and nelly walk to each other, the rest of the girls too heading back to the group.
As i too help myself up out of the crater and head towards them.
"How did such a large group of beast tanks pop up all of a sudden?" Asks the commander.
"Based on our field survey, they were probably paratroopers. There were discarded parachutes found around the area." Nelly says.
With the commander deep in thought and nodding, "Hmm... and from that we've come across, those beast tanks were obviously mutated in some way. Their level of intelligence was way higher than expected."
As the commander then snaps his fingers and takes out an envelope, "Oh right, could you please do me a favour? Could you pass this data sheet to your father? I've already finalized the content. And please pass this message to him."
As i then see the commander whisper somethings to nelly.
With nelly taling a step back slightly shocked, "what? OK, I'll definetly let my father know."
With the commander nodding, "thanks for your help."
As nelly then spots me walking towards every, the commander notices and turns around.
"Hey you two, anastasia nice shots back there even if some of them did miss."
"Hey hey hey! What was that!" Zoe running to anastasia's side and shaking her.
"That's your first time shooting right!? How are you so accurate!?"
With the rest of the girls laughing
"Zoe, you were never a sharpshot to begin with even when we were in the academy and now." Says lena while smirking.
As nelly then steps forward then looking at the commander, "so i believe i owe an explanation on why two civilians are with you?"
Lena and prima hearing this becomes intrigued aswell since they just saw anastasia use a beast tank turret aswell as use it to kill beast tanks themselfs.
As the commander looks at both of me and then sighs, "well it's kinda a long story, but to keep it short these two are anastasia and johan."
As i nod with johan, then wave and smile with anastasia as the commander continues, "long story short these two wants to enlist, johan as a commander like myself and anastasia wants go be a metal maiden. Oh and they are brother and sister."
As nelly nods after listening, "ohoh? Well then nice to meet you two, and nice shooting back there anastasia if i didn't know better i would have thought that you were a metal maiden yo begin with."
With lena cutting in with a smirk, "well you could've fooled me! You definitely shoot better than zoe did when we first shot with our gears! Hahaha!"
"Hey! I di-mmpphh!?" As before zoe could finish her sentence zoya covers zoe's mouth with her hand and chimes in, "well at least we know that she will pass that test haha! But seriously. Have you had military training or something? Because it looked like you used that beast tank turret like it was a shoulder mounted launcher. And aimed it well too!"
As prima and raisa nodded in the background.
With me now looking at myself then back at the group.
'Well... i suppose i did have military training back on earth well more so jusy basic police training and all that jazz, i just didn't expect it to transfer or work well here especially given my current predicament of having two very distinctively different bodies compared to the one i originally had.' So all i can do is nod back.
