Tsunami was Angry.
But he found himself too angry.
This was not to his usual temper. He was displeased with the captain, but his reaction was just- just...
'Damn it!'
'There are really some lingering emotions from that dead bastard'
Tsunami looked at the mess he had caused.
Was he regretful? Not really.
The bastard deserved it, but perhaps he should have stopped sooner rather than later. But in life, there are no ifs. The damage was already done, and there was no going back.
After he stopped his rampage, the two guards went to assist their unconscious captain while the female inmate put on her own clothes and returned the coat to Tsunami.
It was best to get the monster out of the chamber as soon as possible to prevent further damage.
And the direct way to accomplish that was to give him what he wants, before more trouble arrives. She went to one of the drawers and took a bunch of cell keys, then timidly approached Tsunami.
"Let me escort you to Daria's cell."
The inmate, with her head bowed down, directed Tsunami to Daria's cell and found her bandaged all over her face and unmoving.
The bandage was poorly done, barely holding her jaw intact, and was soaked in blood. Worried that Tsunami might throw another fit, the inmate hurriedly explained.
"This place is different, my prince, unlike the males' chamber, for us, as long as we satisfy the guards with their cravings, our lives are usually peaceful."
"Some guards are not gentle, but they compensate us well."
"Provided you are attractive or have huge assets," she spoke while giving Tsunami a side glance, trying to see whether this handsome prince needed further clarification.
After all, rumors had spread far and wide among the seven kingdoms in this continent; it was said that he was the only virgin favourite known to walk the planet.
Perhaps he might not really understand her use of huge assets, hence the need for further clarification.
But seeing no change in his expression, she sighed in relief and continued.
"If you meet the mentioned criteria, then the guards will wholeheartedly take care of you."
"Some of us, within these walls, have a better life than when we were in the outside world."
"As for Daria's case, she is badly wounded, and bringing a royal physician to treat her is very expensive, even for a royal guard."
"Since we are in palace grounds, normal physicians aren't allowed entry to the premises."
"And the higher-ups, well, they don't give a shit about us," she spat to the ground in fury.
"A weak woman has got to do what she can to survive."
"With small wages, a ruined face, and average assets, no guard is willing to become her sponsor."
...
After getting to know the inner workings of this chamber, Tsunami couldn't help but sigh.
"Since I caused it, I will fix it."
Tsunami crunched at the bedside and motioned for the inmate to help place Daria on his back. He was planning to give her a piggyback ride to his chamber.
The inmate was astonished; Tsunami was breaking one royal custom after another, just for a lowly servant.
'What a lucky bitch.'
'Damn it!'
'Damian should have hurt me more'
SIGH!
....
While Tsunami was busy and carefully doing his thing, a two-inch-thick door slammed shut on the entrance to 'level 1 B.'
This sudden commotion caused a stir within the chamber as ten masked men made their entrance in a threatening manner. They were of varying height, but each had a presence that spelled danger.
They carried different weapons, some daggers, some metallic bats, while the rest had long spiky chains that they kept dragging across the floor, creating an irritating screech sound.
...
"What's going on?"
"I-I don't know my prince."
"Check what's causing the ruckus."
Rebecca, the female inmate who was assisting Tsunami, shook her head nervously while she took small steps back.
She dared not be anywhere near the cell's entrance or the crown prince.
Tsunami, at the moment, had already placed Daria on his back, and the way Rebecca behaved screamed red flags for his sixth sense.
He took several steps outside, and as the mob came into his view, his eyes narrowed ever so slightly.
'What's going on?'
...
The other female inmates screamed as they scrambled to hide from sight, as if their cell's metal bars didn't offer enough security guarantee.
To the few inmates who had stayed there longest, they had seen things...
Although the women's chamber was usually peaceful, it wasn't always that way.
....
Back inside Daria's cell, Tsunami had a bad feeling, and something didn't feel right. Rebecca didn't dare move out of the cell, even before seeing what the fuss was about.
It was as if she were aware of something, plus the way she distanced herself from him.
'Too strange'
Tsunami lost patience with the pretentious girl.
"Tell me this instant what's going on, or you shall suffer a fate worse than Damian."
Rebecca, recalling the brutal display and rumors she once heard about the crown prince...
She became scared shitless, her body trembled violently, and she was on the brink of crying.
"Woman, don't make me repeat myself."
Rebecca took a few steps back in fear and pointed her shaking finger in the direction of the two guards tending to their captain.
"It's-It's their doing, I have no part in it"
"I'm just a weak woman, my prince."
Tsunami closed the cell door with one hand, carefully removed the key, and locked themselves inside.
He turned towards Rebecca and began approaching her with his towering frame. Tsunami was a 6-foot muscular dude. Although his imperial robes hid much of that tempting physique, leaving only his handsome face for admiration.
There was something peculiar about him; whenever he got angry, his demeanor changed into that of a bloodthirsty beast.
This was the most terrifying situation Rebecca had faced, so much so that she urinated on herself there and then.
She was so afraid that she didn't dare linger any longer; her knees buckled, met the cold floor, and with a sobbing face, revealed all secrets.
"My prince, several minutes before your arrival, Damian received a purple anonymous letter."
"I'm not sure of the contents or who it's from."
"Shortly afterwards, I saw him secretly typing a message on his old typewriter."
"I have served him for a long time, so I have come to learn a thing or two about his dealings."
"Whenever he uses that typewriter, bad things always happen within this part of the dungeon."
"The only difference is that today his mood deteriorated drastically, after reading the contents of the letter."
"When I saw you enter the chamber, I guessed it had something to do with your visit."
"Tha-that's everything I know, my prince, you don't have to tarnish your robes with my lowly blood."
"Please spare me."
She kept hitting her head on the floor, blood slowly intermixing with her piss pool. Tsunami felt slightly guilty for driving the poor woman into such a sorry state.
But his life was at stake; he couldn't afford mistakes.
He gently placed Daria on a nearby bed and started to contemplate this piece of information. Moving back and forth within the cell with hurried, measured steps.
'The organizer knew I was heading to the dungeon'
'And harming the crown prince is a capital offense'
'The mastermind is not afraid of committing treason.'
'He or she must have the power to make the captain comply, even though he is aware that he is nothing but a pawn.'
'The captain felt completely helpless'
'We are currently within the palace grounds'
'So, the orders must have originated from a noble or a noble household.'
'Tsunami originally died from an assassination.'
'Although I have only been awake for a few hours, I haven't heard any commotion or mention of this matter.'
'It's as if someone is covering up the truth.'
'Someone with enough power and resources to silence everyone in the palace.'
'I haven't met the other two princesses, nor have I met the king'
'Pompei convinced me to come. Although there are some weird feelings I have towards the old man, likely an effect of Tsunami's original affection... for now, he can't be ruled out.'
'And then, there's Ariana and Amelia, they surely have the means to monitor my movements and have the power and resources to-'
'Those bitches!'
