Chapter 29 - Hana has a vaguely ambiguous idea.

When the movie was over Me and Hana quickly threw away our trash in a nearby garbage bin, and quickly made way for the exit, it was about 5:00, the movie was much longer than I had anticipated because It was now starting to get dark and I had about 3 hours left before it got dark and I would have to head home, not that Me and Hana planned to spend anymore time together after the movie but it was still something of noteworthiness, there was still a lot of time to kill but I wasn't sure if there was anything left to do. Hana was seemingly thinking about the same thing as I was, then suddenly her pupils dilated, and her body went stiff.

"Uh."

"What?"

"Masaichi, do you see those clouds?"

"What about them?"

"They kind of look like storm clouds."

I looked up into the sky and saw now that the sun was mostly covered by them, which made it more dark than it usually was. Me and Hana were a good 20 minute walk from the nearest train station, but now it was going to be a 5 minute sprint.

*****

Me and Hana were sprinting through a sprinkling shower that wasn't soaking us but would soon turn for the worse and be a full on storm which would absolutely drench us. Me and Hana weren't exactly the most athletic people, most gamers tend not to be, but we weren't overweight by any means but running this much had a not so great effect on my and her body. Hana was visibly stressed, she hadn't expected this to happen

"I even checked the weather today, it said there were going to be clear skies all day!"

"Well I don't blame you, but this still sucks!"

"Even after I get off the train I need to run for another 5 minutes to get to my house, this sucks!"

"Agreed!"

Me and Hana were almost there, but at the same time so was the worst of the rain, we were absolutely bombarded with droplets of rain but we had just barely made it to the steps that lead into the metro.

*****

Soon enough Me and Hana were sitting on a bench, waiting for the next train to catch so we could get back home, she was visibly shivering from just how soaked she was and I was too. Despite this being a train station it was unusually vacant probably because it was an unusually small one. The only other person besides me and Hana that I saw was someone in a black suit, sleeping upright on a bench about 10 yards from us.

"If only I brought towels."

"Would you have even had space for that in your tiny little satchel?"

"No, but I just feel bad."

"Why?"

"The rain kind of ruined our date."

I looked at her with my eyebrow raised.

"I mean it didn't ruin it, we just got soaked and had to run for a while."

"Considering I ran for 2 kilometers straight, you know how horrible it was."

"Yes."

"I think we need to start hitting the gym."

"You think?"

"Yes, that's what I just said."

Hana shivered, and afterwards loudly sneezed. I scooted away from her in surprise, was she sick, again?

"Ugh, I do really bad with humidity, it makes my nose run like crazy."

"Oh, I see."

She hugged herself, tucking her hands into her armpits trying to insulate herself with her own body.

"Masaichi, I'm cold."

"Well I am too, sucks there is not great heating down here."

Hana's eyes suddenly lit up, as if she had an idea, she then suddenly moved her head inches towards mine and stared into my soul.

"Well, I think there's one way we could warm up."

I looked at her flustered, I was unable to hide the rising blush in my cheeks, was she suggesting what I think she was suggesting?

"What do you mean?"

"Well I mean, there's almost no one around right?"

"Yeah but, I doubt what I think you're suggesting would help much."

"Oh come on for goodness sake, you haven't even heard me out."

"Fine, what is it you want to do?"

*****

Blow driers, of course was the answer to that question, of course being in my underwear in a public restroom wasn't exactly what I would call the most dignifying thing in the world, but was better than catching a cold, especially considering I had already missed school twice this month for the reason of being sick with a horrible cold, but the rain, for some reason my clothes were drying off quite fast despite the crude method of forcing it against a blow drier, Hana of course was also doing the same thing but her clothes were much more thinner and less bulky in general compared to mine, denim tended to like staying wet for some reason, so of course she would probably be out before me. After all was said and done I put back on my layers and was greeted with Hana, her clothes now wrinkled in spots that they weren't before, despite this she still looked gorgeous. Just beyond Hana, I saw a train, it had arrived maybe 20-30 seconds ago.

"Finally, I was starting to get worried."

"I suppose we should get on the train before it leaves?"

"Yes, that would be the wise thing to do."

*****

As we were nearing our stop, Hana was scrolling through her phone endlessly as if she were in a trance, whilst I was just trying to get some rest, when suddenly she turned off her phone.

"I think that's it right there."

"Yeah it is, I was just going to tell you."

Hana opened her mouth to speak, but stopped herself for some reason.

"Uh, you were going to say something Hana?"

"Yeah, but I'm nervous to say it."

"Well I mean, how bad can it be?"

Hana's face was now a deep scarlet.

"Masaichi turn around."

I raised my brow and obliged, before realizing what she was about to do.

"Huh, wait a sec-"

Hana quickly grabbed me from behind and pulled me into a tight embrace, momentarily I was shocked and then I relaxed and laid my hand on her forearm, luckily there were no people in this car so it wasn't an issue, but it was still surprising nonetheless. And then in a nervous whisper, Hana spoke into my ear.

"Thank you for today, and thank you for everything you have done for me."

Then the train stopped and the doors opened, she then quickly pulled away and ran off, up the stairs I of course came out of the train also, but I let her go ahead, I needed to sit down and process what had just happened today.
