Chapter 6 - Epilogue

The band now rests inside a museum.

It lies in a sealed chamber, surrounded by a two-meter radius barrier.

A sign reads:

DO NOT CROSS THE LINE. DO NOT TOUCH THE RELIC.

The curse is still active.

One evening, the museum was crowded with people. In the crowd, a girl suddenly tripped and fell inside the barrier. The museum dropped into dead silence. Everyone's eyes widened as the glass chamber shook violently and burst into a million pieces. Glass pieces flew through the air with the screams of the others. Everyone rushed to leave. The girl stood up in a panic but an invisible barrier seemed to trap her inside. She banged on the invisible wall while crying for help. She watched helplessly as everyone rushed out leaving her to die there.

She glanced at the security guard with the last bit of hope. The guard gave her a pitiful look and walked out locking the museum from outside.

A crowd of people stood outside the window waiting for the Creature to kill her. The lights flickered. A voice from outside the window called out, "Nex!! Behind you!" She glanced at the mirror seeing a tall figure with glowing red eyes standing behind her. She screamed and tried to back away. The windows shut closed with a loud thud and all the lights went out.

In a brief moment her feet left the floor as the Creature grabbed her by her throat. She scratched at the Creature's hands trying to free herself. The Creature's hand burned as soon as it came in contact with her skin. Nex dropped on the floor with a loud thud as she gasped for air. She tried to crawl away from the Creature.

The Creature seemed different. It walked up to her with its long tail swirling behind it, cornering her. It held the tail band in front of her.

The glow from the tail band lightened the Creature's face. Red eyes with black and red hair. His tail was long and black with a red-gradient tip. Nex was frightened by the closeness.

He spoke, "Hold it, My Queen." Nex took the band with shaking hands. The band glowed under her hold turning her dark black hair into pearl white. He leaned his face forward and held her hand to his cheek.

"Sylorin."

"Yes, your majesty."

"Let's go back home."
