Chapter 49
Kairen's eyes twitched from the rays of sunlight that filtered through the windows. The room smelled fresh and neat — a sharp contrast to the thick scent of leather and sweat from yesterday.
His whole body ached. He was exhausted. His eyes fluttered open slowly as they adjusted to the light spilling in. The sight of the ceiling above him was unfamiliar. His gaze traced across half the room confusion tightening his brows and what thickened that confusion was the fact that he was lying on a mattress.
He quickly sprang up from the bed because, from what he remembered , this wasn't supposed to be where he should be. Then, like an unwanted rush, the memories flooded in
