Chapter 146 - Invitation

Regarding Fugaku's question, Ryōsuke naturally had a list of clans to invite in mind and spoke slowly.

"The Hyūga family in the village possesses the Kekkei Genkai, the Byakugan. A clan like that should be brought into our Military Police Force and given the position of Vice-Captain."

Fugaku expressed deep agreement; this family had even spoken up for them at the recent clan head meeting. In the Leaf Village, they were considered a major clan.

The strategic value of the Byakugan Kekkei Genkai on the battlefield was even greater than their Uchiha Clan's Sharingan. Although their top-tier combat power was slightly lacking, they were undoubtedly a massive force. Their addition would also make the authority of the Military Police Force more convincing.

"I agree. Anyone else?"

Ryōsuke smiled and said, "We should also invite the three Ino-Shika-Chō clans, as well as the Inuzuka Clan."

Fugaku's expression changed upon hearing this. Those four clans were the loyal supporters of the Third Hokage.

"Ryōsuke, isn't that inappropriate?"

Ryosuke laughed. "It's fine. I know they are supporters of the Third Hokage, which is exactly why we must pull them in."

"If these people join my Uchiha Clan's Military Police Force, I wonder what the Third Hokage will think."

"Clan Head, you don't need to worry about them causing trouble once they're in. As I said before, as long as the strength of my Uchiha Clan is great enough, nothing will shake the Uchiha Clan's central position."

Fugaku understood. Ryōsuke's move was ruthless; he actually thought of poaching the Third Hokage's foundation.

If they were incorporated into the Military Police Force system, wouldn't that be digging away the Third Hokage's base of support? Without the support of these people, the Third Hokage would be like a commander without an army, isolated and alone. As the Uchiha Clan became increasingly dominant in the future, the position of Hokage would naturally fall into their hands.

Ryōsuke's move was truly brilliant.

Of course, there were still some small issues.

"Ryōsuke, do you think these supporters of the Third Hokage will join the Military Police Force? Wouldn't that be equivalent to betraying the Third Hokage? Surely there aren't people that foolish."

Ryosuke smiled. "There shouldn't be anyone foolish enough to refuse power delivered right to their door."

Fugaku nodded. That was true. If they shared in the authority of the Military Police Force, they would not only hold real power but could also increase their clan's strength, reputation, and status. It was impossible not to accept.

This was a tangible benefit, and naturally, a tangible attempt to drive a wedge between the Third Hokage and these clans.

Ryōsuke sneered at this moment. "Even if they are truly stupid enough to refuse, I will make them accept."

Fugaku could see that the plan was already a success. Once Ryōsuke decided to do something, these people likely wouldn't be able to resist; they could only accept.

It was indeed Ryōsuke's style.

"Ryōsuke, we will do as you say. I will immediately send people to deliver invitation letters to the heads of these five clans, inviting them to the Uchiha grounds."

"Of course, this meeting will still require your presence. What do you think?"

"Of course."

After responding to Fugaku, Ryōsuke drained the tea in his cup.

"Clan Head, if there is nothing else, I will take my leave."

"Good." Fugaku didn't keep him any longer. "I will have someone send the tea leaves to your home later."

Ryōsuke gave a noise of acknowledgment and left directly. It was time for him to go outside and breathe some fresh air.

After Ryōsuke left, Fugaku ordered his subordinates to write five invitation letters and deliver them to the designated five major clan estates.

The Hyūga Clan was the first to receive the Uchiha Clan's invitation. Hyūga Hiashi looked puzzled.

"Did they say what this is about?"

The Uchiha clansman who delivered the letter shook his head. "I do not know. I still have to notify other clans, so I will take my leave first."

Hyūga Hiashi did not ask him to stay. He was even more bewildered. Inviting the clan... what were they planning? Could it be that they wanted to take things a step further?

The current Uchiha Clan was simply too strong. Possessing such formidable power, perhaps the Hyūga family needed to pick a side. Perhaps supporting the Uchiha Clan would guarantee the Hyūga Clan's future status in the Leaf Village.

regarding the current higher-ups of the Leaf, leaving aside whether they had the power to oppose the current Uchiha Clan, the fact that a traitor had appeared among them meant the Hyūga family would absolutely not stand on their side.

Furthermore, that Danzō had actually stolen the Kekkei Genkai of the Uchiha Clan. How was he any different from those people in the Cloud Village?

The invitations were naturally also delivered to the hands of the clan heads of Ino-Shika-Chō.

Faced with such an invitation, the heads of these three clans quickly gathered together. The three families had always made decisions in unison; this was the reason they had established a firm foothold in the Leaf.

Although the strength of a single clan was not exceptional, when the three clans were added together, they amounted to a massive force.

However, facing this invitation, even the typically easy-going Akimichi Chōza had a solemn expression.

Having witnessed Uchiha Ryōsuke's fierce might not long ago, the rise of the Uchiha Clan was unstoppable. Clans like theirs, who followed the Third Hokage, might face a purge.

Was this invitation to the Uchiha grounds a trap to make a move on them?

He looked at the two people beside him who were smarter than he was.

"Inoichi, Shikaku, what should we do? Are we going or not?"

Yamanaka Inoichi was also unable to make up his mind and looked toward Shikaku.

Shikaku thought for a while before saying with a dark face, "Go. Of course, we go."

Yamanaka Inoichi couldn't help but worry. "What if they take the opportunity to move against us? After all, the Uchiha grounds are their base of operations. We would have no ability to resist."

Shikaku said helplessly, "Actually, if the Uchiha Clan wanted to move against us, do you think we could resist them anyway?"

"Although these words are unpleasant, they are the truth."

The other two fell silent. Indeed, if the Uchiha Clan wanted to move against the Ino-Shika-Chō trio, hiding at home would be useless because that Uchiha Ryōsuke was too strong. They suspected that guy might already be comparable to the Ninja God, the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama.

The Uchiha Clan was truly too lucky to have produced such a heaven-defying powerhouse.

If the three clan heads went up against him, they would likely be defeated in three kicks.

They naturally had no choice but to agree.

"Go. Let's just go."

Similarly, the Inuzuka Clan Head also received the invitation.

He also had no choice; naturally, he thing to go.

Given the fierce might of the Uchiha Clan, how could they dare not to go?

If they were targeted by the Uchiha Clan, there was no one in the Leaf Village who could protect their clan.

The scene of the Third Hokage being kicked unconscious was likely to remain in his mind forever.
