Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: A Big Shot Arrives

Objectively speaking, if it were just a change in performance time, then everything would be understandable. There would be many, many reasons, any one of which would allow the One Day King band to swallow all their dissatisfaction and obediently accept reality. This was their situation, and they were well aware of it.

However, a direct postponement of twelve hours was basically equivalent to disrupting the entire plan. Was it certain that such an arrangement was okay? Did the organizers definitely know the consequences? Did the people in charge definitely know what they were doing?

This was especially true for a large event like the Full Moon Party; moving one part would affect everything. Such a drastic change could very likely undo all the previous efforts of the organizers and even land them in an unmanageable predicament.

The organizers should have been even clearer about this than the band members, but they still made such an adjustment. So, what exactly had happened?

However... the band members had no answers either. They were just a group of insignificant ants with no say, only able to be passively led by the nose. The fact that they were still on the performance list was already something to be thankful for—the worse alternative being to have their performance qualification directly canceled.

Maxim wasn't really looking for an answer; he was just letting off some steam and trying to divert Ollie's attention. But then, Maxim realized that the atmosphere Ronan had finally managed to salvage had stiffened again. Ronan's expression was a bit awkward, and he was just about to say something to ease the tension when another voice quickly drew everyone's attention.

"I think... I might possibly know the answer."

The voice came from... Alice?

An unexpected choice.

Surprised and puzzled gazes all turned towards Alice, but Ronan's first reaction was, "Are you okay? Did you... encounter something?"

Ronan was worried that there might be some secret hidden behind this, and that Alice might have stumbled upon the truth by accident, which could put her in danger.

Living in this society, and not just in the entertainment industry, but in all walks of life, ignorance is often a form of safety. Many secrets are better left kept secret.

Alice could sense the concern in Ronan's words but was surprised by Ronan's reaction speed... and his thought process. He could jump across two galaxies with just one sentence. Even Alice was stunned for a moment before she understood Ronan's meaning, let alone Ollie and Maxim, who were completely dumbfounded beside her.

Noticing the bewildered expressions beside her, where flies could probably fly into Ollie's gaping mouth, Alice couldn't help but giggle. She quickly composed herself and said formally to Ronan, "Don't worry, I didn't stumble upon any shady secret meetings."

One second. Two seconds.

Maxim and Ollie finally reacted at the same time. Maxim nodded repeatedly, making "oh oh" sounds, while Ollie let out a terrifying shriek, "Ah!", then clapped his hands and burst into laughter, "Hahahaha," bending forward and backward, putting on a live-action show of a car crash.

Because Ollie was laughing so exaggeratedly, Ronan and Alice both looked at him with bewildered expressions. Even Cliff, who was driving, couldn't help but glance in the rearview mirror. But because of Ollie's intense reaction, Ronan's worries instantly eased, and a smile appeared between his brows.

Ronan and Alice exchanged a look that said, "Can you believe this guy?", then Alice directly ignored Ollie and continued to explain with a smile.

"I just overheard some other band members complaining. From their conversation, it's not just your band that had its performance order changed. In their talk, they mentioned at least five bands that had their performance orders changed, and the actual situation might involve even more."

Ollie and Maxim could clearly be heard sucking in a cold breath. The severity of the situation completely exceeded their imagination.

Ronan's brow also furrowed slightly.

"What's going on?" Cliff's voice lowered slightly as he joined the discussion.

Ronan blurted out, "How does Alice know?"

Cliff also realized his mistake and looked at Alice in the rearview mirror, nodding slightly to express his apology.

Unexpectedly, Alice's expression remained very serious, and she continued, "During your rehearsal, I heard the staff mention something. Although we can't know for sure if there's a connection between the two, I don't think there are so many coincidences in the world."

Alice really knew?

"They said that Scott Braun will be appearing at tonight's Full Moon Party, and he's coming specifically to scout bands," Alice dropped the most crucial piece of information, the content she had pieced together from fragments of conversations.

However, the inside of the car fell silent. Everyone looked at each other, their expressions conveying the same meaning—

Who?

Although Alice had mentioned a name, it wasn't a household name, so everyone reflexively had question marks all over their faces.

Alice hadn't anticipated this reaction, but she didn't mind. She hadn't expected this information to answer any questions anyway, which was why she hadn't rushed to share it before. From beginning to end, it was just her own speculation; and it was just a rumor.

"Sorry, maybe it's just some nobody. Don't let me mislead you," Alice shrugged, quickly explaining, bringing the band members back to their senses.

Ronan was still thinking seriously, and he said hesitantly, "Could it be... Scooter Braun, the one who manages Justin Bieber?"

"Ah!"

After Ronan's reminder, their thoughts instantly became clear. Maxim heavily slapped his thigh—wincing because he had used too much force. He quickly and continuously rubbed his thigh muscles with his right hand, but he still couldn't contain his excitement and said:

"Right, Scooter! His name is Scott! Alice, the name you heard should be this one."

Alice spread her hands. "I have no way to be certain, because neither of these names means anything to me. What I heard was indeed Scott Brian."

Maxim didn't mind at all, nodding repeatedly at Ronan. "Scott Brian, his nickname is Scooter, but his original name is Scott. The detail Alice heard should be this. If he's coming all the way here to enjoy the Full Moon Party and also wants to scout bands, then things can be reasonably explained."

Maxim couldn't help but rub his hands together excitedly. "Ah! If we could be noticed by Scott, even if we don't skyrocket to fame, it could at least completely change our careers. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for any band. This could be a potential chance for instant fame. Who wouldn't want that?"
