Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: The Mysterious Person

After lunch, we said goodbye to Da Uyen to prepare for the afternoon class. Before leaving, I also put two candies in his hand, and casually patted his head. Da Uyen lowered his head, his ears red, his eyes hesitantly following my departing back, mixed with something both shy and reluctant.

Back in class, Trieu Kha Nhiem was already lying on the table, groaning:

"Ah, I'm so tired..."

I raised my eyebrows and looked at him:

"Hey, I just finished eating, why are you so weak?"

He pouted, still lying there, lazily replying:

"I'm really tired."

I laughed, teasing back:

"I only heard that working a lot makes you tired, but eating is tiring, this is the first time I've seen it."

Zhao Keran paused, turned away, and muttered, "Pfft, I'm really tired..."

Seeing that, I didn't bother to argue, and immediately turned to pick up a book to read. But while flipping the page, I suddenly remembered my best friend in the real world. My heart sank a little, and I thought to myself: I wonder how she's doing now...

Meanwhile, in another place, the atmosphere was completely opposite. A luxurious room but the light was dim. On the table, a contract was thrown down, making a cold clang.

The mysterious person sitting opposite Lin Zeyun, his voice calm but with a hint of threat:

"I will help your father's company overcome this crisis. I will also help you get back everything that originally belonged to you from their hands. As long as... you promise me three conditions."

Lin Zeyun hesitated for a moment, but still asked in doubt:

"Those three things... what are they?"

The other person's lips curved up, the smile was both faint and dangerous:

"First thing... you must become my fiancée. Of course, only in name, but in the future, whoever you want to love, I will not care."

Lin Zeyun's face stiffened slightly, suspicion and vigilance arose in his heart. He gritted his teeth:

"What about the other two things?"

The mysterious person picked up the teacup, slowly took a sip, then replied indifferently:

"That... let's talk about it later. Right now, I haven't thought of what I want."

Lin Zeyun's eyebrows furrowed tightly.

"So what benefit do you get from this?"

The other person put down the teacup, smiled deeply, his voice whispered like a cold wind blowing into his ear:

"That, you don't need to know. In this world, the less you know... the safer you are."

That sentence made Lin Zeyun slightly startled, his whole body covered in goosebumps, cold sweat trickled down the back of his neck. A thought flashed through his mind: "This woman... isn't simple."

Then Lin Zeyun also spoke:

"What if I refuse?" - he blurted out.

The mysterious person raised his eyebrows slightly, his voice calm and cold:

"Whatever."

But it seems like your father's company... won't last much longer. I advise you to calm down.

There was a hint of contempt in his voice. Lin Zeyun clenched his fists, anger mixed with helplessness. When he saw the other person stand up to leave, he finally blurted out:

"Okay... I agree."

The mysterious person stopped, turned around, his eyes flashed with a teasing light:

"If you've already decided so, why do you have to wait for me to stand up before you speak?"

Lin Zeyun stared at the other person, trying to suppress his emotions:

"Can you really help me?"

The other person only hummed softly, putting the signed contract into his pocket. Before leaving, she turned around, leaving a confident sentence:

"What I promised... of course I can do. You don't need to worry."

That figure disappeared behind the door, leaving Lam Trach Van sitting there, his mind in a mess.

Returning to Ta Ninh Xuyen's side.

After finishing the afternoon class, Trieu Kha Nhien and I packed up our things, planning to stop by the classroom to find Da Uyen. But when we got there, the boy seemed hesitant.

"What's wrong? Is there something wrong?" - I asked.

Da Uyen bit her lip, her voice soft and somewhat evasive:

"Home... my home has something to do, I have to go home for a trip. So... I can't go with you two."

My heart sank a little. Home? Could it be her adoptive parents...? That thought flashed through my mind, making me frown unconsciously.

I said I would go with him, but unlike usual obedient, this time Da Uyen was a bit stubborn, determined not to let me or Trieu Kha Nhiem follow. In the end, I had to let the boy go alone.

When that small figure disappeared, Trieu Kha Nhiem spoke up:

"Hey, why do you insist on following Da Uyen?"

I paused, pondered, then replied:

"Maybe... I'm worried, afraid that something will happen."

"Oh... really" - he exclaimed, not asking any further.

We walked home together, but my heart was still uneasy. A vague feeling of unease kept creeping in... as if signaling that something bad was about to happen.
