Chapter 850 - 850 Fountain of Wisdom

"It seems you've gained quite a lot~"

Hearing this voice that had become familiar recently, Kotoko Iwanaga blinked, then tilted her head, her gaze fixed intently on Luo Shu's face as she stared straight at him.

After being scrutinised for over ten seconds without a response, Luo Shu smiled and asked:

"The Divine Pantheon Reconstruction System's automatic informational broadcasts shouldn't be the type that harms human brains, right?"

"The stronger one's receptivity, the more likely they are to experience paralysis from information overload."

"Simply put, the more powerful and developed one's brain is, the more precise information they receive, causing their mind to operate at high speed while their body remains unable to react."

Kotoko explained her earlier condition, then looked at Luo Shu with curious eyes:

"Still, I must say I'm quite surprised~"

"Luo Shu, did you also receive an inheritance from a high-ranking being? And from the looks of it, a True God at that..."

"Also?" Luo Shu caught the wording and looked at her in surprise: "What do you mean?"

"I received a deity's inheritance during my childhood."

Having understood the situation, Kotoko saw no reason to hide it and explained directly:

"It was a partial inheritance left behind by a god who wielded Authority over Strife and Wisdom."

"My current Class originates from this."

"Of course, although called a god, according to classifications from the Fountain of Wisdom, this God of Strife and Wisdom was actually only a Seraphim, while surpassing Angels and infinitely close to the God Throne, ultimately not having ascended it yet."

"But by ancient classifications, Angel Ranks were generally collectively referred to as gods."

"Only beings of Divine Rank above Seraphim, who truly hold God Thrones and govern Divine Realms, are considered True Gods."

Here, Kotoko paused before continuing:

"In short, things like the Divine Kingdom and Calamity Class you inherited are remnants left by True Gods of Divine Rank, whereas mine comes from a secondary divine inheritance."

"The most crucial difference lies in the Divine Kingdom formed from a Divine Realm."

"As an extension of a True God's Divine Authority, Divine Kingdoms are said to possess incredible powers."

"One such saying is 'so long as the Divine Kingdom remains, the True God cannot perish'."

"According to my inheritance, even if a True God dies, their Divine Kingdom will protect their true spirit, allowing them to reincarnate and start anew..."

At this point, Kotoko cautiously glanced at Luo Shu, as if gauging his expression.

Recognising her look, Luo Shu instantly understood her implication:

"You're suggesting I might be a god's reincarnation?"

"Yes."

Kotoko didn't conceal it, admitting frankly:

"Inheritances left by high-ranking beings at the Seraphim level can only allow successors to inherit their knowledge, the Classes they developed, and the authorities they wielded..."

"While there are risks like possession attempts, these still have significant chances of failure."

"But for True Gods, there's no such thing as leaving inheritances - they either perish completely or begin anew as time passes."

"Considering the Divine Pantheon Reconstruction System actually possesses something like a Divine Kingdom hidden within your body..."

Kotoko Iwanaga paused here, giving Luo Shu a knowing look.

A Divine Kingdom guards the soul, and inheriting the Class of a True God within it—if you're not a reincarnation of a deity, then who could be?

Hearing Kotoko Iwanaga's explanation, Luo Shu's feelings were somewhat complicated:

"...That's certainly an interesting way to put it."

What kind of person he was in his past life—others might not know, but how could Luo Shu himself not remember?

He was just a common person who scored 400 on the gaokao and attended a vocational college. If he'd been a god, would he have needed a mortgage to buy a house in his previous life?

So perhaps it was his life before last where he'd been a deity?

Or maybe, for some reason, he'd stolen a Divine Kingdom from a god, resulting in his current state?

Luo Shu didn't understand the full story behind it all, but one thing was clear—his current self wasn't yet qualified to investigate the truth.

Therefore, Luo Shu simply took note of the information revealed by Kotoko Iwanaga before steering the conversation elsewhere:

"So, the legendary Fountain of Wisdom is actually an inheritance left behind by a Seraphim Rank deity?"

"Correct."

Kotoko Iwanaga nodded, confirming Luo Shu's assumption:

"It was a Seraphim who originated from the giant race, walked the path of mystery, created their own Class, extended it into the Divine Authority of Strife and Wisdom, and became a monotheistic deity."

"They fell in an accident, and after death, their residual power spontaneously gathered into a pool of blood."

"The Union currently seals this blood pool in Germany under the codename Abyss Artefact 4-03: Abyss Blood Spring."

"However, the Union sealing the Abyss Blood Spring isn't aware that on the 28th and 46th days of each year, it briefly transforms into the Fountain of Wisdom, wandering across the world and appearing before qualified individuals in an attempt to select suitable Class bearers."

"I completed part of the inheritance ritual during the last appearance of the Fountain of Wisdom, thus obtaining a portion of the Class inheritance."

"Others who received parts of it include Twin-Wings Edelweiss, Hao Asakura, and the Witch of the Notaria, Aya Tokoyogi."

"Edelweiss and Hao Asakura inherited the strife-related aspects, but since both already had their own paths when they received the inheritance, I'm uncertain whether they've fully embraced the Classes within the inheritance."

"The Witch of the Notaria and I inherited the wisdom-related aspects. My Class leans towards contemplation, while hers focuses on recording."

"Thus, I can easily study other races' innate abilities and convert them into my own techniques, whereas Aya Tokoyogi can record other races' powers and reproduce them to some extent."

"From what I've heard, the Witch of the Notaria supposedly recorded the racial powers of the demons she contracted with, enabling her to counter them... though this is just rumours, so it remains unconfirmed."

"A single inheritance evolved into four Classes? And they're likely all Top Tier Classes?"

Luo Shu couldn't help feeling surprised at this point. Was this the true value of a Seraphim?

Did his own Calamity Class also have other components?

As Luo Shu pondered this, Kotoko Iwanaga explained:

"According to the inheritance I received, this seems to be standard for higher beings. The more powerful the existence, the more comprehensive their Divine Authorities, while weaker individuals, even if qualified to inherit, can only obtain portions."

"The natural result is the differentiation of Classes."

"Normally, differentiated Classes rarely reunite. Each derived Class tends to deviate from the creator's path due to the inheritors' adaptations, giving rise to new Classes and Divine Authorities."

"Ordinarily, this phenomenon begins at the Apostle stage... but..."

Kotoko Iwanaga's expression turned peculiar at this point.

She hesitated, glancing at Luo Shu before finally scratching her head and saying:

"It seems due to the Divine Pantheon's influence, my Class has already started evolving?"

Hearing this, Luo Shu froze for a moment before immediately opening the Divine Pantheon Reconstruction System to check the earlier notification.

Sure enough, a Demigod Rank special ability had appeared in the Divine Pantheon.
