Chapter 1063 - 1063 This Was Her Own Choice

The Spring of Drowned Girl's effect truly introduced female individuals into the goblin species.

Seeing this group of females, Luo Shu felt his eyes were somewhat polluted and couldn't help but glance at Mai Sakurajima instead.

Noticing Luo Shu's gaze, the stiff-faced Mai Sakurajima couldn't resist asking:

"Why are you looking at me?"

"To cleanse my eyes."

Luo Shu stated his thoughts frankly while pinching the bridge of his nose:

"I always knew goblins were ugly, but I didn't expect their female versions to be even worse."

"Then why did you do this in the first place?" Mai Sakurajima glared at Luo Shu with a mix of embarrassment and annoyance.

"It was just a necessary sacrifice for the experiment."

Luo Shu lowered his hand and sighed:

"You heard Sword Maiden's explanation earlier, right?"

"Goblins can impregnate females of any race with goblin offspring, with a chance to inherit the mother's traits."

"So if we make female goblins, and this trait carries over, it means female goblins could bear children with any race while inheriting the father's traits."

"Do you understand the implications of this, Mai?"

"I get it. Producing children of gods, artificially creating Demigods? You've explained it clearly enough."

Mai Sakurajima looked at Luo Shu with undisguised distaste:

"But mostly, you just want to disgust those gods, don't you?"

"That is indeed a significant factor." Luo Shu curled his lips into an amused smile:

"But once you learn what these gods have done, you might go even further than me."

Hearing this, Mai Sakurajima's eyes widened in shock.

Just then, Luo Shu had sent her a third-person perspective through the Divine Pantheon Reconstruction System.

When she saw the gods using dice to determine human fates - having already decided that goblins would capture Sword Maiden and her companions - she stared at Luo Shu in disbelief:

"How could such things happen?"

She glanced at Sword Maiden, currently stunned by the goblin gender transformation, and whispered:

"That should be her patron god, right?"

Mai was referring to the so-called Sun Supreme God. From the reactions in Luo Shu's vision, it was easy to deduce that this was Sword Maiden's deity.

Her own patron god is rolling dice to send people into goblin captivity.

What kind of hellish joke was this?

Instead of answering directly, Luo Shu maintained his smile:

"Now, do you still think what I'm doing is excessive?"

Mai Sakurajima studied Luo Shu up and down before remarking:

"I suddenly think having you as Chief God isn't so bad after all."

At least Luo Shu wouldn't send his Familia into such disgusting situations.

Well, perhaps this god treated his Familia as personal lovers instead.

A harem type was still far better than these dice-rolling pervert deities.

Hearing Mai compare him to those dice gods, Luo Shu's expression nearly cracked:

"I feel my character's being insulted here, Mai."

Mai Sakurajima nodded and reminded him:

"You can insult me back thoroughly... after I've fallen for you."

"..." Luo Shu found himself speechless at Mai's mischievous expression.

"What do you mean by 'after you fall for me'? So you're saying you don't like me now, so I can't bully you yet? I have to wait until you feel ready before accepting punishment?"

If you don't want to accept punishment, just say so. Using such nonsense to delay things is really off-putting.

That said, Mai Sakurajima's words did carry a certain pleasant undertone.

Was she hinting that after getting together, they could engage in some... indecent excesses?

"I suddenly think if Mai were to become this world's deity, she'd undoubtedly outperform these worthless gods."

Just with this skill of playing with people's emotions, Mai Sakurajima already surpassed these useless deities.

"Me? A deity?" Mai Sakurajima looked at Luo Shu in surprise. "Coming from you, I might not take that as a joke."

"Then take it seriously." As Luo Shu spoke, he raised his right hand. Black-red ripples began emerging with his movement.

Borrowing Kurumi Tokisaki's City of Devouring Time, shadowy figures gradually materialised before them.

Twelve figures in total - eight male, four female - all humanoid in appearance.

There were tall, tan-skinned insectoids, pitch-black dragonkin with single horns, several long-eared elves, but the majority were humans.

Their only unifying traits were the divine majesty they exuded and their aesthetically pleasing features by their respective species' standards.

After submerging the four goddesses back into the City of Devouring Time, only eight kneeling deities remained - clearly under illusory control, their eyes vacant. Luo Shu snapped his fingers, and the 300 goblins divided into eight groups, each entering different caves ahead.

Just as Luo Shu prepared to send these deities into the fray personally, Mai Sakurajima suddenly tugged his sleeve, gesturing towards Sword Maiden.

Luo Shu instantly understood her meaning and couldn't help whispering:

"Isn't that a bit too cruel?"

Mai shot him an exasperated look. "If it's cruel, it was my idea, alright?"

Seeing this, Luo Shu glanced at Mai, shook his head with a chuckle, then turned to address Sword Maiden and others:

"You lot - herd these fellows into the goblin dens."

"Eh? Us?" The red-haired Cleric paled instantly upon hearing this, her face turning ghostly white.

After all, according to Luo Shu's earlier words, the eight people beside them were all deities he had captured!

Eight deities!!

They were supposed to deliver these eight into the goblin den, to have them ravage the goblins—no, wait, for the goblins to ravage them—no, that wasn't right either.

The red-haired Cleric's brain seemed on the verge of overheating.

Seeing her like this, Luo Shu narrowed his eyes slightly, inwardly complaining about her naivety.

'This kind of girl is actually the leader? And an all-female adventurer team coming to exterminate goblins? The people of this world really have something wrong with their heads.'

Noticing Luo Shu's slightly odd gaze at the red-haired Cleric, Sword Maiden, assuming he disliked her, immediately stepped forward:

"Your Eminence, Cleric may not yet be able to... adapt..." After saying this, the Sword Maiden gritted her teeth. "Allow me to carry out your task in her stead."

Seeing Sword Maiden volunteer herself, Luo Shu gave her a meaningful look and said:

"Since you've said so, then it shall be you."

Sword Maiden visibly relaxed.

She stole a glance at Luo Shu, confirming he wasn't angry, then clenched her teeth and strode towards one of the captive deities.

When she saw Sword Maiden heading straight for the golden-haired male in the centre, Mai Sakurajima covered her face with her hand:

"How did she pick so accurately..."

Luo Shu nodded in agreement.

"Quite accurate indeed."

With that, he glanced at the Sun Supreme God, still trapped in the illusion but now being dragged by the hand towards the goblin den by Sword Maiden, and couldn't resist recording the scene.

'Better show this to Sword Maiden often in the future.'

'After all, this was a choice she made with her own hands!'
