"You're actually asking me about this?"
Upon hearing Luo Shu's question, C.C. couldn't help but complain:
"Do you think I'm some kind of encyclopedia or something?"
"You don't know?" Luo Shu glanced at C.C., sounding somewhat disappointed.
"Of course I know," C.C. said matter-of-factly.
Luo Shu was rendered speechless.
If you knew, then why say that earlier?
At this moment, C.C. seemed to have a sudden realisation:
"Transforming into a vengeful spirit... So that's how Echidna planned to escape?"
Clearly, she had deduced Echidna's actions and motives, but precisely because she understood, she realised how bold Echidna had been.
"The Spirit-Body Separation Art is a forbidden art, and the technique to transform an intact soul into a vengeful spirit is the most forbidden among forbidden arts."
"Honestly, why is the Desire Faction full of such eccentrics?"
As she said this, C.C. stared pointedly at Aya Tokoyogi without any attempt to hide her meaning.
It went without saying who else was included in this category of "eccentrics."
Yet Aya Tokoyogi showed no reaction to this direct taunt.
When it came to C.C., Aya Tokoyogi seemed to possess remarkable patience.
"Truth Astronomy possesses 19 Common Class inheritances and 7 High Tier Classes in total. None of them requires transformation into a vengeful spirit."
After calmly sharing the information she knew, Aya Tokoyogi glanced at C.C.
"Have you been collaborating privately with Echidna?"
Though phrased as a question, her tone carried certainty, as if she had already confirmed something.
To this, C.C. continued eating her pizza nonchalantly:
"While I do have some collaborations with those in Truth Astronomy who could kill me, Echidna isn't one of them."
She paused, then added with a playful tone:
"Besides, the one I collaborated with wasn't her, but your mad disciple."
Hearing this, Aya Tokoyogi raised an eyebrow and glanced at Luo Shu, explaining:
"The Witch of Envy?"
Luo Shu was surprised to hear this. Could the Witch of Envy personality within Emilia actually communicate? And C.C. had spoken with her? Moreover, was this connected to Echidna's Class?
"What exactly is going on?"
At this point, C.C. leaned against the food display case with a faint smile and asked Luo Shu:
"Do you know how many origins the Witch Class in this world has?"
Without waiting for Luo Shu to respond, C.C. continued:
"There are three origins."
"The first is the Gorgon lineage of witches, who possess the Common Class known as the Witch."
"The source of this Class seems to trace back to a demon viscount in True Hell."
Nak?
Luo Shu raised an eyebrow slightly at the mention of a demon viscount but didn't interrupt C.C.
Then, C.C. went on:
"The second origin is the one standing beside us right now."
The mentioned Aya Tokoyogi remained expressionless, but C.C. continued with a smile:
"She combined knowledge from True Hell, the Class information from the Gorgon lineage, and Emilia's innate Top Tier Class as materials to research another Witch Class. This Class is not only a High Tier Class but has also become the mainstream of the Desire Faction."
Hearing this, Luo Shu couldn't help but glance at Aya Tokoyogi.
Creating a High Tier Class without being a Demigod—according to Luo Shu's inheritance from the Divine Pantheon Reconstruction System and Kotoko Iwanaga—such individuals often possessed the potential to develop a Top Tier Class.
In other words, it's the qualifications of an Angel. With sufficient opportunity, becoming an Angel wouldn't be difficult.
Thinking about how Aya Tokoyogi was merely a magic criminal imprisoned for wanting to change the world in her original reality, and comparing that to the talents she now displayed, Luo Shu couldn't help but sigh at the disparities between worlds.
Some talents only appear incompetent because their environment truly fails them!
After lamenting Aya Tokoyogi's circumstances, Luo Shu composed himself and turned to C.C. to ask:
"So what's the third origin?"
There was no need to overthink it—Echidna's Class was undoubtedly related to the third origin, and what C.C. wanted to emphasise was surely the third as well.
C.C., having teased enough, smiled and explained directly:
"The third is Emilia herself—or rather, the peculiarity of her three personalities coexisting within one."
At this, C.C. meaningfully added:
"I don't know if you've noticed, Aya, but Emilia's Class and the Witch of Envy's Class are two entirely different types."
Hearing this, Aya Tokoyogi immediately caught on, exclaiming in surprise:
"You mean a wraith?"
Then, frowning, she murmured:
"I see. That would explain it."
With a sigh, she turned to Luo Shu, who was still confused, and elaborated:
"In the past, to analyse the anomalies in Emilia, I conducted a series of studies on her."
"Setting aside the results, during the research, I did uncover some of her unique traits."
"First, her triple personality was an accidental product caused by external forces."
"Second, upon closer examination, Emilia only has two personalities—Emilia and Satella."
"The third, the Witch of Envy, is merely an extreme emotional manifestation of Satella herself."
"But if, as C.C. suggests, the Witch of Envy possesses her own Class..."
Here, Aya Tokoyogi's expression darkened slightly:
"Then the Witch of Envy and Emilia can effectively be considered two distinct individuals sharing one body."
"You and I both know that systematic powers like Classes often induce a certain life evolution in the body."
"For instance, after becoming a Demigod, most fatal weaknesses are reduced to just the brain and heart."
"But strangely, Emilia's body still has far more vulnerabilities than just those two."
Luo Shu was stunned. For a Demigod to retain—no, gain—more weaknesses was an exceedingly rare phenomenon.
"So you're saying Emilia's body remains unchanged by her Demigod ascension, while Satella and the Witch of Envy are genuine Demigods..."
"Wait, hold on—does that mean there's another body inside Emilia? One that belongs to Satella and the Witch of Envy after their evolution?"
"That... that can't be. Two people, two bodies, yet outwardly appearing as one... That defies all logic..."
"It can be logically consistent." C.C. murmured: "As long as the other body is a different life form."
Upon hearing C.C.'s words, Luo Shu immediately understood why Tokoyogi Aya had blurted out the term 'vengeful spirit' earlier.
Because the Witch of Envy, Satella, had another body, that of a vengeful spirit.
And Emilia's three personalities were actually the result of the vengeful spirit Satella possessing her body!
Realising this, Luo Shu couldn't help but sigh:
"So Echidna's goal is to transform into a similar vengeful spirit body and become a Demigod like the Witch of Envy..."
