"Huh, I've been too focused on him. Fuck! He's going to steal my prey." Carl startled as he snapped out of his thoughts about Wilbur's actual power.
He quickly ran forward and shouted:
"Let me finish it off! I'll join your team!"
Suddenly hearing Carl's shout, Wilbur was a bit curious, but he didn't think too much. Everything was fine as long as Carl joined his team. He could ask his reason later.
He deflected the Hobgoblin's fireball with his dragon wings, then twirled in the air before kicking the goblin in the chest, sending it flying a long distance.
Finally, he lightly landed on the basement floor like a true dancer.
"Damn! I don't want to admit it, but he's too handsome and strong when he does that."
"Anyway, he also helped me. I won't feel like wasting praise on you, lizard."
So, Carl ran toward the goblin, which was in bad shape after Wilbur's previous kick. Meanwhile, he sent a compliment—and a nudge of respect—to Wilbur.
"Excellent!"
Wilbur just nodded and took one last look at the Hobgoblin before it was finished off by Carl.
Now, Wilbur had Carl's definite respect.
Of course, Carl wouldn't tease him anymore. Basically, he didn't pick fights with stronger opponents—at least until he cleared this dungeon in peace.
[Systems]: You slain the Hobgoblin Shaman[1/1]
[You have received 20x Monster Card]
"Yes! And now, I'll handle the rest of your underlings, Hobgoblin ."
Carl smirked as he pulled his sword out of the Hobgoblin's chest.
"Tsk! Your blood smells like dead fish." He clicked his tongue while looking at his sword, now sticky and smelly with blood.
He didn't want his wife's sword to be covered in this filth, but it was unavoidable in any fight.
[System notice]: "Don't worry, my husband… I'll give you a knife if you accomplish this mission."
"Oooh… You're so sweet… My wife…"
He intended to say a few flattering words to his wife, but Wilbur quickly interrupted his short date with a light cough.
Then Wilbur asked, confused:
"Who are you talking about?"
In reality, anyone here would've asked the same if they saw this scene.
Carl really looked like a psycho, talking to himself. Even worse, he called his own sword by a weird name: My wife?
Did he… really sleep with it? Or do something perverted with a sword?
Wilbur guessed that might be the case, since Carl had been expelled from his family. Perhaps he'd been too lonely.
"What are you thinking? I CAN READ IT ON YOUR FACE!" Carl grimaced as this damn lizard mocked him again.
He added, "I'm having a short discussion with my wife, okay!"
Wilbur just narrowed his eyes for a moment, confirming what he suspected.
Carl actually considered his sword his wife.
"How pitiful…" Wilbur shook his head and changed the subject.
"So, now… might you explain that?"
Carl scoffed and stepped past Wilbur, focusing on his next target. His mission wasn't completely finished yet—but he didn't forget to answer Wilbur's question.
''They're all giving me dirty looks''

"Hey! What are you doing? That's mine!" a guy shouted angrily as Carl had just killed the ogre he had been fighting from the beginning. It had taken him a long time to deal damage to its tough body. He wanted to savor the feeling of victory, but Carl had destroyed his emotions at that moment.
"Sorry…"
[System]: You have slain the Ogre [1/20]
…
"Hey! You bastard!"
Carl apologized again while cutting another Ogre's head.
[System]: You have slain the Ogre [2/20]
…
"Sorry!"
[System]: You have slain the Ogre [10/20]
[System]: You have slain the Ogre [11/20]
…
Carl danced with his breath, rapidly wielding his sword at the Ogre. His technique was flawless—even if some others had tried to kill their Ogres before Carl arrived, it was useless.
His speed was ridiculous, relying purely on swordsmanship. He barely used any brute strength, like punches or kicks, unlike some of the big, bulky guys.
At this point, none of the candidates considered Carl weak.
"Damn! I'll kill it before you!" a muscular guy shouted, rushing at the Ogre with all his speed and swinging his blade horizontally, aiming at its head.
However, Carl chuckled, planted his feet, leaped into the air, then swirled and threw his sword at the dying Ogre—before the muscular guy could finish it.
[System]: You have slain the Ogre [20/20]
[You have received 100x Monster Card]
"Fuck!" the muscular guy roared.
"Sorry, my fault." He glanced at the muscular guy, now kneeling and roaring in pain at his failed attempt.
Then Carl licked his lips and summoned his system.
"Status."

He belonged to the Stoker class, but at this time, he could even use one of the basic skills from the Strike class. He knew the system was a little… weird, but these things still astonished him.
"I think I can use other skills in the future if I work hard. Maybe even some skills from other classes." Carl smiled proudly while nodding rapidly.
Ting!
[System Notice]: Don't hope too much. I can only give you some basic skills… I'm sorry.
Carl shook off his thoughts and tried to comfort his wife, even cursing himself for being greedy.
"No, it's my fault. I shouldn't have been too greedy."
