Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen – A Dance of Masks

At the next royal feast, Rosa played her role perfectly. She smiled, laughed, and charmed the nobles — but her eyes never left Daya, who was again serving at the tables.

Vanda noticed too.

When Rosa approached him, fluttering her lashes, he merely nodded curtly. "Princess."

Her smile wavered. She tried to take his hand, but he pulled it back with deliberate distance.

Daya, pouring wine, caught the exchange — and Rosa caught her gaze.

The hatred that flashed there chilled Daya to her bones.

By night's end, Rosa had made her decision. If humiliation could not end the maid, then blood would.
