The area near the Tohsaka residence was filled with Western-style homes, probably built up gradually from the 19th to the 20th century.
This side was generally considered part of the Tohsaka camp by default.
The major landowners in Fuyuki City were primarily the Tohsaka family. They weren't doing so well now, but with magic involved, as long as Rin achieved something in the path of magecraft, rising again would happen quickly.
There was also another major landowner: the Ryūdō Temple on Mount Enzō, which featured Japanese-style buildings and residences. The residential districts were thus clearly divided.
Tohsaka Rin explained that the Ryūdō Temple camp had lost its influence in the hidden world long ago. Now, it was purely a landowner for ordinary people, and its leyline had belonged to the Tohsaka family for a very long time.
Every sixty years between the Holy Grail War systems, it was mainly used to charge up via that great leyline over there.
However, the Tohsaka family wouldn't use that great leyline themselves; they usually practiced gem magecraft.
Moreover, among the Three Founding Families back then, the Matō family constructed the Command Spell system, the Einzbern family manufactured the main body of the Holy Grail, and only the Tohsaka family provided no technology.
The great leyline in Fuyuki City was like an investment from the Tohsaka family's assets—it no longer fully belonged to them.
Rin walked along, introducing the locations to Harry, who was cloaked under the Invisibility Cloak. She seemed intent on making him memorize places suitable for hiding or setting up, in case he recalled any skills for creating positions that he could put to use.
When they arrived at the school, Harry discovered that Rin didn't seem to like studying much either.
She came to school as if looking for someone, but she didn't find them, and Harry had no idea what she was up to.
"Are you looking for an acquaintance?" Harry asked directly. "Not to brag, but I have some expertise in finding people. My eyes are sharper than an eagle's, my nose more sensitive than a three-headed dog's. Give me that person's personal clothing...
Or I can find them by intuition...
Or if you provide some information, I can deduce it."
"Sakura... Dursley King, you don't need to worry about it."
Rin frowned...
She actually knew that Sakura had been very busy lately and wasn't coming to school. It might be because...
...She just didn't want to jump to that conclusion...
But the Matō family would definitely participate. As one of the Three Founding Families, just like the Tohsaka wouldn't harbor any illusions that others would pay attention to her as the lone survivor of the Tohsaka house.
She was well aware that the Matō family would join too.
And that seaweed-headed guy had no talent at all.
In this war, she might very well have to fight her sister.
...Well, it was fine. A weak Servant had its advantages—at least she wouldn't have to worry about harming Sakura...
Tohsaka Rin glanced at Harry.
"Tch... I get the feeling you're thinking something really rude."
Since she didn't find the person, Rin just left right away, not putting the school in her eyes at all. Of course, the school wouldn't make things difficult for a young lady like her.
The darkness of the Tohsaka family was quite terrifying.
The residents of Fuyuki City, after living there long enough, were all aware of certain strange things—things that could be simply called the dark side. Ordinary people shouldn't rashly probe into them, or they'd face certain death—silenced.
Rin took Harry around the nearby areas, scouting locations, including the church where one could forfeit, and she pointed out the positions of the leylines.
She still hoped Harry would remember the Caster's skill for building a workshop.
That should be a class skill, right?
Just like how Saber definitely has Magic Resistance, a cultured person definitely has culture, and it's only natural for Caster to build workshops.
The Holy Grail War had only been held a few times so far, with very few successful Servant summons. The base was purely Western-style with no Eastern Servants, and some rules were quite rigid.
In Rin's impression, because the word "Assassin" was directly linked to a certain sect, unless summoned specially, it would always hit one of the Old Men of the Mountain—and those Old Men of the Mountain were pretty weak.
They inevitably possessed the class skill of Presence Concealment, which only allowed scouting intelligence or assassinating Masters; they were useless in direct confrontations.
Additionally, Casters could all build workshops—it's called Territory Creation, a class skill, and that was their only advantage.
The Caster from the previous Holy Grail War was an amateur, but even with just a grimoire, they achieved B-rank Territory Creation, guarding it with numerous water demons that could slightly hinder Servants' advances. The workshop level far surpassed that of normal magi, and a higher A-rank Territory Creation would be a temple rather than a workshop.
Moreover, most Casters had the ability to create items, but the previous amateur Caster didn't, so Rin assumed Dursley King probably didn't either.
"Just to be safe, I'll ask: can you do Item Creation?"
"I can."
"What, really? Dursley King?"
Rin felt that this ability... was better than not having it. Even making skeleton minions would be good.
"Really. In theory, I can create the Philosopher's Stone, but I've never done it, and I can't right now—I'd fail if I tried... I'd need to wait a while."
Rin was shocked: "Are you a disciple of Master Von Hohenheim?"
"I don't know him." Harry shook his head.
"Did you make a Philosopher's Stone in life?"
"I didn't; this is my first time, so I said in theory."
"Alright, I get it."
Rin thought Dursley shouldn't be called Dursley King anymore—better to call him Boastful Violent Glutton King.
"I get the feeling you have no confidence in me at all. Actually, I think you don't need to be so pessimistic. I don't understand why it seems like a Caster who can't do Territory Creation can't fight at all—just fight head-on."
"You say that so easily! If you're so capable, go beat a Servant for me right now!"
Tohsaka Rin had a belly full of grievances, both toward herself and toward Harry.
She still thought Harry's mind wasn't quite clear anymore, but that might be her own fault. If she randomly lashed out at Harry, he wouldn't take it lying down—he'd return it tenfold, which was really frustrating.
Their compatibility was terrible! Though this kid was pretty charming... Could I be an M?
"Sigh... You actually have that ability? Speak and it shall be... I see a Servant."
Harry spotted a blond delinquent walking on the road in the distance, on the slope near the church where Rin had said one could forfeit.
"A wild Servant... very arrogant... He's alone, it seems. Where's his Master... His malice... so much of it, a body entirely composed of malice... Full of sins, deserving punishment..."
Harry relayed a lot of information to Rin. Since he was hidden under the Invisibility Cloak projected from another world after his legendary armament, the Servant on the other side didn't seem to notice him right away.
"Should we fight? That arrogant feeling... He seems... No, he must be a king too."
"Wait, don't go."
Tohsaka Rin instantly realized the situation—they'd definitely get killed if they charged now.
How could a Caster fight in an encounter battle? Facing any Servant, a Caster would be at a disadvantage in an encounter—who ever heard of a Caster charging with a sword?
She grabbed Harry and whispered, "We're staying right here. Don't move."
Rin realized Harry was actually quite perceptive. As a Master, she had detection abilities too, but she couldn't tell that blond delinquent was a Servant... She'd failed twice in a row, with both Dursley and the blond. Rin suspected her Master abilities were defective.
That botched ritual was the root of all evil.
Suddenly, Rin's expression changed again.
She saw Sakura. So that's why she wasn't at school—she was here, cornered by the blond delinquent.
"Damn it! How dare he! What's his deal!"
Rin instinctively thought Sakura might have become a Master, her Master identity discovered, and encountering a Servant was extremely dangerous—she could be ruthlessly killed.
"Don't charge."
This time, it was Harry pulling Rin back.
"Something's off about this guy... His power fluctuates wildly; I can barely gauge his danger level... No... Are Servants really this strong?"
"The gap between a Grand Servant and a normal one is unimaginable. If this is the standard for normal Servants, then a Grand's strength would be... And they need seven of them? I'm pretty honored."
Harry looked grave.
He might be eliminated today.
If Rin decided to act, it would be cowardly for him to hold back here.
He had to go all out with a direct ambush for even a slim chance.
"Only one shot—should we go?" Harry whispered in Rin's ear. His divine power began quietly burning, waiting for the moment to boil over.
Rin seemed to calm down: "What are the odds?"
"I'm not in top form... Fifty-fifty, I guess."
"That high? More boasting. Fine, let's go—open fire!"
