Chapter 133 - Chapter 129: The Times Are Moving Forward, and Akatsuki Ninja Village Represents the Future

Autumn returned quietly to the Land of Fire, dyeing the world in warm gold and deep red. As the leaves drifted lazily in the wind, the Akatsuki Ninja Army marched steadily toward their home. At their head stood Uchiha Makoto—Lord Kage of Akatsuki Village—his expression calm and unhurried, yet his eyes softened the moment the familiar outline of the village appeared on the horizon.

Word of their victory had reached Akatsuki Village long before their arrival. Villagers poured out of their homes and walked miles to gather along the road, forming a sea of excited faces. They stood ten miles outside the main gate, lining both sides of the path like a corridor of hope, awaiting the triumphant return of their Kage and their protectors.

As soon as Uchiha Makoto crested the hill and saw the enormous welcoming crowd, a gentle warmth spread through his chest. He hadn't realized how much he longed for home until this moment.

Among the villagers, at the very front, a single figure caught his eyes—Uzumaki Tsubaki Shizuku. The wind tugged at her long hair as she gazed at him, eyes shining. When she saw him, her face lit up instantly, blooming like a flower in the golden light of autumn.

Makoto raised his hand.

Shizuku raised hers.

The world momentarily narrowed to just the two of them.

Unable to restrain herself any longer, Shizuku ran forward, her footsteps light, almost floating. The moment she reached him, she threw herself into his arms, her embrace full of relief and longing.

Just then—music filled the air.

But instead of a romantic melody befitting lovers reuniting after hardship… the villagers had chosen to play Lord Kage's Exclusive Theme. Majestic, heroic, and utterly incapable of matching the heartfelt reunion happening before them.

Makoto exhaled helplessly. As much as he wished to be just Shizuku's husband right now, he was also the Kage of Akatsuki Village—leader, protector, and symbol of its rising era. Even Shizuku stepped back a little after the initial embrace, fully aware that countless eyes were watching.

Before they could say more, thunderous cheers erupted from the villagers:

"Victory!"

"Long live Lord Kage!"

"Long live Akatsuki Ninja Village!"

The returning ninja behind Makoto lifted their weapons and voices in response. Their joy was raw and real—after all, surviving a war and returning alive to their families was no small blessing. For many, this was the first moment in months where they truly felt safe.

Makoto took Shizuku's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze, then turned to greet the villagers one by one, acknowledging their cheers and waving warmly. The people adored him—not out of fear, but out of genuine trust in his leadership.

But not everyone was smiling.

Security personnel moved through the crowd with sharp, trained eyes. Ever since the assassination attempt by a Kumogakure shinobi, vigilance had tripled. Every hand movement, every shift in the crowd, every unfamiliar face was scrutinized. Protecting Lord Kage was not just a duty—it was an absolute necessity.

Fortunately, everything remained peaceful as Makoto and his forces passed through the gates.

When Makoto entered Akatsuki Village, he immediately noticed how much had changed during his absence. The streets had widened by three or four meters, making room for new traffic patterns and the growing population. Strange metal poles—early prototypes of the village's planned communication and lighting systems—now stood along the main road.

Villagers bustled everywhere. Market stalls overflowed with goods from every corner of the Land of Fire. New shops lined the streets, their signs bright and freshly painted. The village was larger, livelier, and unmistakably modern.

Kazuma, walking beside Makoto, began reporting progress.

"Lord Kage, all three major development zones—the residential district, the commercial zone, and the technology park—have been completed and passed inspection. Additionally, several Wealthy Merchant families from the Land of Fire have submitted proposals to establish manufacturing facilities under Akatsuki Village's name."

Makoto nodded thoughtfully. This aligned perfectly with his long-term vision.

The ceasefire agreement had transformed Akatsuki Village into the most attractive investment hub in the region. For Wealthy Merchants frustrated by the rigid noble-dominated system of the Land of Fire, Akatsuki Village represented something radically different—a future shaped not by birthright but by capability.

But this shift wasn't limited to economics. The entire political structure of the Land of Fire had begun to change.

Since the end of the Ninja Clan Wars, the era of centralized Ninja Villages had begun. Akatsuki Village and Konoha—once rivals—had inadvertently reshaped the nation together. They absorbed large Ninja Clans, consolidated power, and became the backbone of military authority.

Smaller clans that refused relocation had little choice but to pledge allegiance to one of the two major villages. Though scattered across the nation, they followed orders and became strategic defense points. Both Akatsuki and Konoha tolerated their semi-autonomous existence for now; the early era of a Ninja Village's founding required compromise and flexibility.

Even the Land of Fire's Daimyo, once aloof and politically entrenched, had begun relying on the two villages. Extermination orders for bandits, rogue factions, and criminal groups were now routinely executed jointly by Konoha and Akatsuki. Within a year, internal chaos drastically decreased, stabilizing the Land of Fire for the first time in decades.

And with stability came prosperity.

Wealthy Merchants were the first to act. They funneled savings into factories, workshops, and trade routes. With a vast population and a growing market, the Land of Fire boomed faster than any other nation.

But business was never pure.

Officials demanded bribes. Nobles imposed hidden conditions. Wealthy Merchants lacked noble lineage, making them vulnerable and easily exploited. Many were coerced into becoming the public "faces" of noble investments—obedient tools in the hands of those born into privilege.

If they ever dared refuse?

The consequences were severe.

Yet the more Wealthy Merchants suffered under noble oppression, the more they looked toward Akatsuki Village with hope. Here, Lord Kage did not despise capital—he understood its power. He intended to use it to break the outdated systems that had long strangled the world.

The nobles, in contrast, cared nothing for progress or innovation. They clung to land, status, and tradition, desperate to preserve a decaying order that benefited only themselves.

That difference alone made Akatsuki Village the light of a new age.

Makoto walked slowly through the streets, observing the energetic crowds and the fresh scent of construction materials. Children ran past him, laughing. Elderly villagers bowed respectfully. Merchants called out greetings from their storefronts.

This was no longer merely a ninja settlement.

It was a nation in miniature.

A symbol of what the future could be.

Makoto exhaled softly—not from exhaustion, but from fulfillment. Everything he had fought for, everything he had envisioned… it was taking shape.

The world was changing.

The old ways were fading.

And Akatsuki Ninja Village was not just adapting—it was leading.

The times were moving forward.

And the future… belonged to those bold enough to seize it.

Uchiha Makoto raised his head slightly, gazing across the village not as a warrior returning from battle, but as the architect of a new era.

"Akatsuki Village will reshape the world," he murmured.

Shizuku, still beside him, smiled.

"And you will lead it."

The leaves continued to fall gently around them as Akatsuki Village entered its golden age.
