Chapter 13 - Let Us Believe in Tang San

Just as Tang San was thinking about how to kill the two of them, Master didn't think much, stepped forward, and helped Tang San up, his expression filled with concern. "Xiao San, are you alright?"

Tang San was still hesitating whether to kill Master, but once he did, he would have to go all the way. After all, his identity was at stake, and no one could know that his soul did not belong to this world.

But seeing the worry in Master's eyes, Tang San raised the left hand that held the hidden arrow, and then quietly put it down.

"Tang San, Master, are you two alright?" Ma Nuo walked over at this moment, with Cheng Xiao following behind him.

"Xiao San, why did you let go just now? Do you know how dangerous that was? I couldn't even see you in the dark." Master rebuked.

Hearing this, the hanging heart in Tang San's chest finally settled. If Master had said he saw something, perhaps he would have secretly killed Master. But since Master hadn't seen anything, he would let it go.

Regardless of whether Master had the eyesight of his Purple Demon Eye, Tang San had been observing the expression on Master's face just now. The worry in his eyes didn't seem to be deliberately faked.

"I'm sorry, Master." Tang San put on an act, panting heavily as he said, "I was just wildly swinging the short sword you gave me, and it seems I hit that Mandala Snake. It really scared me."

Hearing this, Master turned to look at the weakening Mandala Snake. His expression began to change, from previous panic to wild joy. He said, "Excellent, Xiao San, you have a Spirit Ring now!"

"Spirit Ring?" Tang San was slightly stunned, and exclaimed in surprise, "Master, you don't want me to absorb the Spirit Ring of this snake, do you?"

"Indeed. Absorbing the Mandala Snake's Spirit Ring will not only grant you a binding Spirit Skill, but also some of the Mandala Snake's toxins," Master said seriously.

"Tang San, just listen to your Master," Ma Nuo nodded and said, "After you absorb the Spirit Ring, we'll go help Cheng Xiao hunt for a Spirit Ring."

"Cheng Xiao?" Tang San was startled. Could it be that Cheng Xiao had survived?

Hearing this, Cheng Xiao walked out from behind Ma Nuo, smiling at Tang San, "Tang San, just listen to Master. His theories are never wrong."

"Yes, Xiao San, hurry and absorb this Mandala Snake's Spirit Ring," Master urged.

Although Tang San believed in Master's theory, he couldn't help but feel a sense of impatience in Cheng Xiao's words. It was as if Cheng Xiao was the one about to absorb the Spirit Ring, not Tang San.

To be on the safe side, Tang San asked Master about his doubts, "Teacher, my Martial Soul is a plant. Would it be better if I absorbed a Spirit Ring from a plant-type spirit beast?"

Hearing this, Master was a little displeased, but then he thought about it. What Tang San said made sense, so he decided to explain it on the spot, allowing Tang San to understand the importance of Martial Soul theory.

Master took a deep breath and slowly said, "Among the ten core competitive theories of Martial Souls that I've researched, one of them states that plant Martial Souls might not necessarily be unable to absorb Spirit Rings from animal spirit beasts. Your Blue Silver Grass needs toughness and toxicity, both of which this Mandala Snake possesses."

"But if I absorb it, won't there really be a conflict?" Tang San still felt a little uneasy.

Master looked at Tang San deeply and said in a low voice, "Whether it's ordinary Spirit Masters or those guys from Spirit Hall, they all scoff at my ten core competitive theories. No one believes them."

"However, even if no one has tried my theory, practice is the only truth, and the only standard for testing truth is to try it."

"Xiao San, are you willing to try it?"

From Master's eyes, Tang San saw a fervent passion. Master had deduced that he possessed a Dual Martial Soul based solely on a theoretical treatise on Martial Souls, and was also a pioneer in Martial Soul theory research. How could Tang San not believe him?

Tang San genuinely respected Master's Martial Soul theories. His previous doubts were merely influenced by Cheng Xiao's words. Now, however, he intended to genuinely put Master's theories into practice, which was what he, as a disciple, should do.

"Teacher, I am willing." Tang San took a deep breath, his expression serious. "Let me help you put your Martial Soul theories into practice. I believe that your many years of research will not be wrong."

"Good, you are indeed my disciple." Master said, his eyes filled with gratification as he looked at Tang San.

See? This is my disciple, Yu Xiaogang! He's willing to put my Martial Soul theories into practice. Those Soul Masters who don't understand my theories, just you wait! My disciple, Yu Xiaogang, will definitely become the most powerful person on the continent in the future!

Tang San took a deep breath and slowly raised his right hand, slowly gathering the remaining spirit power in his palm. Accompanied by a pale blue halo, the Blue Silver Grass grew out from his palm.

Under the pull of the pale blue light, the Mandala Snake's Spirit Ring flew towards Tang San, and then suddenly contracted, firmly encasing itself on his body.

Immediately afterward, Tang San felt a surge of heat rush into his body. He slowly closed his eyes, immersed in this strange sensation.

Seeing Tang San absorbing the Spirit Ring, Master, who had been supporting himself, also slumped to the ground. When confronting the Mandala Snake, his Martial Soul, Luo San Pao, had unfortunately been bitten. Now, the poison was taking effect, and the forced-up spirits became blurred. He fell into a coma.

"Xiaogang!" Seeing Master faint, Ma Nuo hurried to his side, supporting his body against a nearby tree, and then felt his pulse.

"That's good, that's good." Seeing Master's purple and black face, Ma Nuo breathed a sigh of relief and said awkwardly, "Fortunately, it's just snake venom, and there's still a chance to save him."

"Dean Ma Nuo, please hurry and detoxify Master," Cheng Xiao said, unable to bear looking at Master's miserable state. It wasn't that he was overflowing with sympathy, but Master's current appearance was really...unpleasant.

That black and purple face was like a boil about to burst open at any second. Cheng Xiao averted his gaze in disgust, no longer looking at Master, to prevent himself from feeling disgusted.

It wasn't that he had any prejudice against Master, but what was happening before his eyes, even without prejudice, was too much. What kind of good teacher brings students to hunt spirits and ends up almost being killed by a spirit beast? Even if Cheng Xiao had no prejudice against Master before, he couldn't help but have it now.

"Alright," Ma Nuo replied, then lifted Master's clothes and began to examine him carefully.

After a moment, Ma Nuo's face stiffened as he withdrew his hand, as if he had encountered some inexplicable obstruction.

"Dean, what's wrong?" Cheng Xiao asked in confusion.

"No...nothing," Ma Nuo waved his hand awkwardly. After the series of examinations just now, he found that the deepest area of poisoning was at Master's thigh.

"What should we do?" Ma Nuo looked at where Master was poisoned, hesitating.

Although he and Master were friends, the location of the poisoning was a bit too awkward, wasn't it? Asking an old man like him to help with the antidote was truly difficult.

But if he used his spirit power to force the poison out, some unexpected things might happen. After all, he wasn't young anymore, and he really couldn't do such delicate work as controlling spirit power. What if he made a mistake and caused Master to lose his ability to have children?

"Principal, let Tang San do it after he's finished absorbing the spirit ring," Cheng Xiao suddenly said while Ma Nuo was still hesitating.

"No, Tang San is still just a child. Letting him do it might not be as reliable as me," Ma Nuo decisively shook his head upon hearing this. If he let Tang San do it, he might as well do it himself.

"Principal, just let Tang San do it," Cheng Xiao smiled. "Tang San put in a lot of effort when he defeated the Mandala Snake just now. Although he killed the Mandala Snake in a panic, judging from his performance, he has extraordinary talent."

"Principal, let's trust Tang San. Besides, he and Master are teacher and disciple."
