Chapter 144 - Indifferent Dugu Bo

"What's going on with you three?"

Startled by Flandre's shout, Dugu Bo froze. He looked down at the whip in his hand and felt that something was off—had he been too lenient on them?

"Dugu Bo, if you've got guts, hit me! Don't touch my Second Dragon Sister!"

"Big Brother Flandre, I must protect Xiao Gang. Dugu Bo, if you've got the ability, hit me! I can take it!"

"Second Dragon, Flandre… you… you…"

Seeing both of them willing to take the pain for him, the Master felt tears welling up. If his eyes weren't already bloodied, he might have shed a few tears.

Watching the scene unfold, Dugu Bo fell silent. He slightly regretted it. If only he had let Nash smack them dead earlier—this noisy chaos was truly irritating.

Unamused, he raised his head, and suddenly noticed someone hanging from the tree but silent—Tang San seemed a little different.

A smirk tugged at Dugu Bo's lips. He found it interesting and quickly strode to the seemingly unconscious Tang San.

"Tang San, I know you've been awake all along. Since your teachers are so united, I'll give you a chance," Dugu Bo said coldly.

"If I hit you, I can let the other three go. Likewise, if you let me hit them, I can spare you. The choice is yours."

"Jie jie jie…" Dugu Bo let out a strange laugh.

Hearing this, Tang San realized he couldn't keep pretending. He opened his eyes and stared at Dugu Bo. He knew clearly that the choice Dugu Bo gave them was simply dog-eat-dog. If he actually went along, he would be the one taking the beating next.

But if he didn't, among the Golden Iron Triangle, the Master weighed the most in his heart. After all, that was Tang San's teacher. As for the other two, they were less important to him.

The real problem wasn't which of the three to choose, but that they were all his teachers. Moreover, the Master was close to the other two. No matter what choice he made, it wouldn't be perfect.

If he chose the three teachers, he'd have to endure Dugu Bo's beating. If he didn't, he'd earn a reputation for being cowardly and self-preserving—which was unacceptable for the pure and upright Tang San.

Seeing Tang San hesitate, Dugu Bo let out a strange laugh, flicked his whip, and struck Tang San on the rear with at least one-third of his strength.

"Not choosing? Then I'll hit you until you do!"

The whip hit, and Tang San let out a shrill, agonized scream. Dugu Bo struck again, whipping multiple parts of Tang San's body, eliciting pig-like screams.

Dugu Bo wasn't a kind person. Wherever the whip landed, it needed to hurt badly. He didn't care about lasting damage—what was that to him?

To teach Tang San a lesson, Dugu Bo whipped him for ten minutes. Tang San's flesh was torn and bloodied before Dugu Bo's sore wrist finally rested. He grinned strangely:

"Well? Have you chosen? Once you pick, you won't be beaten anymore."

"Hiss…" Tang San inhaled sharply, his body convulsing in pain. With his skin exposed, each strike made cold sweat pour from him.

Just as Tang San was about to decide, Flandre spoke calmly:

"Dugu Bo, I'll tell you now—I'm not afraid to say it. Xiao San's father is not someone you can provoke. I advise you not to touch him, or you'll die an ugly death."

"Oh?" Dugu Bo raised an eyebrow, amused. "You dare threaten me? Tell me, what makes this kid's father so special? Even if it's the Martial Soul Hall's Pope, I wouldn't fear him."

"Ha! Surname Tang… someone you cannot provoke. How many people like that exist on this continent?" Flandre snorted, mocking.

"Surname Tang?" Dugu Bo paused, a spark flashing in his mind. He suddenly thought of a man, and his expression shifted slightly. He asked suspiciously:

"Tang San… that man has the surname Tang. But how do you prove he's his son?"

"Don't tell me this kid's Martial Soul mutated into Blue Silver Grass. If so, that man's head would be as green as this fool's, right?"

Having witnessed Nash the dragon's power, and after settling a score with the Martial Soul Hall's Chrysanthemum Douluo, Dugu Bo feared nothing. Tang Hao might be powerful, but Dugu Bo wouldn't care and could even report information to the Martial Soul Hall—who's truly strong? He wasn't afraid.

Threats to juniors? That's nothing. Once Dugu Yan had issues, Dugu Bo could do anything. Remember, he's called the Poison Douluo. One-on-one might fail, but in toxins, can the Tang family resist?

Seeing Dugu Bo unmoved, Flandre panicked slightly but had no other choice and continued:

"You're right, his Martial Soul is Blue Silver Grass. But what if he has dual Martial Souls? If we can't return today, my people will find Tang San's father. If we die in this Sunset Forest, guess who will be held accountable?"

"Dual Martial Souls? Him?" Dugu Bo glanced at the bloodied Tang San. His eyes flickered with uncertainty.

He knew the meaning of dual Martial Souls. If he killed Tang San, that man would surely go berserk hunting him down.

"My father?" Tang San, hearing Flandre and Dugu Bo, paused and thought.

With his intelligence, he quickly analyzed that his father wasn't as simple as he appeared.

"Hehe, Flandre, thanks for the reminder." Dugu Bo laughed strangely, eyes gleaming with menace.

"Since we've already made enemies, I won't spare you. I'll kill you, erase the bodies, and leave. As long as I want to leave, no one can easily find me."
