Anna stayed in Neil's embrace for a long time before finally calming down.
She took a shaky breath, wiped away her tears, and noticed the wet tear stains she'd left on his suit.
Feeling embarrassed, she whispered softly, "I'm sorry."
Neil glanced down at his chest, then back at her, a faint smile tugging at his lips. He shook his head. "It's okay. I'm honored to be the one you turn to when you need someone."
Anna's body stiffened slightly, her lashes fluttering as she looked away. She could sense that Neil still had feelings for her.
But her thoughts were a tangled mess, she couldn't stop wondering if her child's father, Johns, was really Liam Walker.
No… she needed to find a way to confirm it. A DNA test, that was the only way to be sure.
"Let's head down," she said quickly, changing the subject. "The party might be starting soon."
Neil understood she didn't want to continue that topic, so he simply nodded. "Alright. Let's go."
