Anna froze, completely caught off guard by Mrs. Walker's sudden question. For a moment, she didn't even know what to say.
Thankfully, Neil quickly stepped in, breaking the tense silence with a calm smile.
"Alright, Mother, there's no need to rush," he said gently. "Matters of the heart should happen naturally."
Mrs. Walker blinked, realizing she might've been too forward.
A light blush touched her cheeks as she smiled warmly. "I'm sorry, dear. I just really like you."
Anna felt both surprised and flattered by her kindness. "Thank you, Mrs. Walker, for being so kind to me," she said softly.
Mr. Walker, who had remained quiet the whole time, finally spoke.
He gently tugged on his wife's arm and said, "Let's give the young ones some space to talk."
Mrs. Walker immediately caught his hint, a knowing smile playing on her lips before she left with her husband.
