Chapter 59 - A Tribute

As promised, Tara, Tristan, and Therese organized a simple gathering to commemorate Grandpa Theodore's passing. 

Since his death, the whole household—especially Tristan—had been consumed by Troy and Terry's petitions in court. Each day had been filled with documents, hearings, and constant preparation. There had been no quiet moment to grieve.

It was Tara who insisted that they set aside one evening. "We cannot allow his memory to be swallowed by court proceedings," she told her children. "Your grandfather deserves more than that."

Wilbert did a good job of sorting Theodore's personal belongings. Tara found Grandpa's favorite harmonica, silver comb, and wide-brimmed hat. She carefully laid them on a table covered with white cloth. His personal effects would make his presence felt during the gathering.
