Tara and Therese were dropped off at the manor, while the couple rented the same wagon to take them onward to Blackthorn.
The journey was long. The horse grew tired, and the wagon driver complained of hunger, so they stopped at a roadside inn where both man and beast could rest. After a warm meal and a short break, they resumed the trip and reached the Keep by dusk.
Shannon invited the driver to stay overnight and travel again at daylight. The man gratefully accepted, comforted by the thought of a hot meal, a soft bed, and generous pay for the extended journey. The horse feed included as perks to stay.
After the curse was lifted, parts of Blackthorn Keep had been restored and reopened as the Blackthorn Hostelry, offering travelers and visiting nobles a chance to stay within the once-haunted fortress.
