Noah exhaled slowly through his mouth, his eyes still on the tablet screen. His thoughts went back to the cab incident from weeks ago. At the time, Levi had looked like a victim who had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
But Noah remembered the police report he had been quietly dissecting. The statements and reports had been perfect. Too perfect and detailed enough to be helpful, but vague enough to hide everything that mattered.
It was eventually framed as luck from surviving, and now coincidentally, that same man his mate saved was the agent he was signing with.
Now, watching Levi walk confidently into that building, the "coincidence" suddenly felt deliberate.
