Adrian had built his strategy around Noah being isolated and unstable. The board narrative depended on Noah appearing unfit to lead, propped up only by family name and shareholder loyalty. The omega was supposed to be part of that picture. Fragile, traumatized, a constant reminder that Noah couldn't even manage his own mate bond without nearly killing his partner.
But this wasn't fragile.
This was someone who could stand in front of industry professionals and deliver a performance that impressed people who were difficult to impress.
Adrian's attention shifted to the investors scattered throughout the room. They were applauding politely, the way they applauded anything expensive and well-executed. But several of them were looking at Marcus now, making connections.
Beside him, Silas's hands were clenched in his lap. He consciously made an effort to loosen his grip.
