Chapter 34 - Ling An: It's Alright

Some things, without someone to point them out, you might never realize in your entire life. Perhaps this is what's meant by being lost in the woods, while the observer sees the whole picture.

Unable to see the true face of Mount Lu, only because one is within the mountain.

Son Gohan and Trunks both put aside their despair. Although they came from different futures, the situations they faced were similar. As long as they knew the location of the New Namek, they could find a way to go there and revive those humans who had died because of the Androids.

Thinking of this, they were both filled with renewed energy.

But at this moment, Krillin suddenly asked, "Gohan, in your timeline, Goku also died of illness, right?"

"Yes, in the world before I met Ling An, it was basically the same as the world Trunks came from." Son Gohan nodded. He hadn't reacted at first to Krillin's question, but soon his expression tightened. "Uncle Krillin, you mean..."

"Hmm..." Krillin's face was serious. "The Dragon Balls can't revive those who die of natural causes. Goku died of illness, so it's very likely that the Dragon Balls can't revive him."

"Isn't there any other way?"

Son Gohan also understood the situation with the Dragon Balls, but he still felt a little unwilling. Reviving Goku wasn't just his wish; it was also his mother Chi-Chi's.

But in response to Son Gohan's question, Krillin shook his head, "I don't know either. How about we ask Piccolo? He merged with Kami, so he might know something about this. Besides, maybe the Namekian Dragon Balls can revive people who died of natural causes."

"Okay!"

Son Gohan nodded. Everyone flew towards Kami's Lookout at a faster speed. In a short while, they arrived at Kami's Lookout. Piccolo and Bulma were also standing outside to greet them.

"Uncle Piccolo!"

Son Gohan came to Piccolo, his eyes filled with nostalgia and excitement. Being looked at with such eyes, Piccolo coughed a little awkwardly, crossing his arms as he said in a low voice, "Gohan, I already know what happened. You've done well, you've grown to an incredible level."

"Heh heh."

Hearing Piccolo's praise, Son Gohan scratched his head, a little embarrassed. Then, he anxiously asked the question he'd been pondering along the way.

Facing Son Gohan's question, Piccolo frowned and pondered for a long time. After a moment, he slowly said, "From a god's perspective, life and death are inherently irreversible. Using the Dragon Balls to resurrect someone is something that is not permitted in the eyes of the gods."

Piccolo, having merged with Kami, knew all of the knowledge of Earth's God. He also understood some things about the gods. After finishing his explanation about the gods, he explained to Son Gohan from a Namekian perspective, "As for the Dragon Balls, they also have various limitations. Death from illness is a kind of natural death, so it's impossible to resurrect someone with the Dragon Balls. However, this is what I know about the Earth's Dragon Balls. As for the Namekian dragon, Porunga, I'm not so sure."

"The Earth's Dragon Balls cannot resurrect someone who has already died once and been resurrected, but the Namekian dragon can resurrect someone an unlimited number of times. Perhaps, the Namekian dragon might be able to resurrect someone who died of illness," Bulma said as she walked over, smiling gently at Gohan.

"I hope so," Son Gohan clenched his fists, his face filled with anticipation.

Ling An stood to the side, arms crossed, and didn't say anything. In fact, she wasn't sure either whether Porunga could resurrect Goku, who had died of illness. The original story didn't have much description of the Namekian Dragon Balls, and there were many contradictions. This was a real world, and maybe it was different from the original story?

Besides, if the Namekian Dragon Balls really couldn't resurrect someone who died naturally, maybe they could ask the Grand Elder of Namek to help upgrade them. Ling An hadn't forgotten that initially, the Namekian dragon Porunga could only resurrect one person at a time. But under the Grand Elder's upgrades and optimizations, Porunga gained the ability to resurrect a group of people, just like the Earth's Dragon Balls.

Adding to that, Dende's optimization of the Earth's Dragon Balls. It could be seen that the abilities of the Dragon Balls weren't fixed and depended on the creator's abilities. As long as the creator's ability was sufficient, creating even more powerful Dragon Balls would be easy.

"Bulma, Goku and the others have only just entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and they won't be out until tomorrow. So, you should go back to Capsule Corporation with Android 16 first. Android 16's strength is not bad. Fixing him will be a help," Krillin suddenly said to Bulma.

"Alright."

Bulma didn't ask any questions. She nodded, then tossed out a capsule and flew off with Android 16. Seeing Bulma leave, Vegeta turned to go as well, but just before he flew away, he suddenly said to Son Gohan, "Kid, tomorrow Kakarot leaves the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. I'm going in first, understand?"

"Ahem, I understand, Uncle Vegeta, don't worry." Son Gohan chuckled, even though he knew Vegeta's personality well. He didn't understand what there was to argue about regarding the timing, as there were still ten days until the Cell Games. What difference did it make which day they used it?

After hearing Son Gohan's response, Vegeta flew off to catch up with Bulma. Trunks, however, didn't leave with them. Perhaps because he hadn't seen Son Gohan for a long time, he stayed by his side, not wanting to leave.

"Gohan, Piccolo, I'm heading back to Kame House first. Although my strength won't be of much help in the upcoming battle, I still hope to get stronger if I can." Krillin clenched his fists and looked up at Son Gohan and Piccolo.

"Uncle Krillin, don't you want to use the Hyperbolic Time Chamber?" Son Gohan asked.

"Not for now. I know my own talents well. Rather than spending two years in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, I'd rather continue training under Master Roshi. Although Master Roshi's power isn't strong, his martial arts experience is far beyond mine. Perhaps I can make more progress with him." Krillin shook his head, smiling wryly as he declined. He knew himself well, and he understood that even if he entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, it wouldn't be of much use, and would just be taking up a spot.

"Gohan, Piccolo, and Trunks, you all have to work hard. Ten days from now, you must defeat Cell! See you in ten days!" Krillin waved to everyone, then flew away from Kami's Lookout and headed towards Kame House.

"Uncle Krillin really tried his best, but..." Watching Krillin leave, Trunks shook his head helplessly.

Hearing this, Son Gohan patted his shoulder and said seriously, "Trunks, don't underestimate anyone's potential. Even Earthlings can possess endless potential to become stronger, like Ling An. Perhaps you don't know, but her current strength is even greater than mine?!"

"Re... really?"

Upon hearing this, Trunks' eyes widened. Even the composed Piccolo slightly turned his head. He could sense the powerful energy within Ling An, but just as Son Gohan exceeded his perception, so did Ling An. Therefore, Piccolo could only sense that they were very strong, but he couldn't tell exactly how strong.

And Son Gohan's strength was obvious to everyone. Even in his current state with a missing arm, he could still fight Cell. If he could recover his arm, he could definitely overpower Cell. But even so, he couldn't compare to Ling An?

Feeling the shocked gazes of the others, Ling An, who was lost in thought, smiled slightly and said, "My strength is just so-so, you don't need to worry too much about it."

Just so-so...

The others' mouths twitched upon hearing this.

Son Gohan personally certified her as stronger, and they couldn't even compare to Son Gohan. If Ling An's strength was considered "okay," then what were they? Pathetic?

Thinking about it, it seemed there wasn't a problem with that assessment. Besides Son Gohan, who could fight Cell, no one else present could compare. In that case, "pathetic" was accurate.

"It seems I need to work even harder. I now possess power I never dared to imagine before. If I just keep working hard, I can definitely become stronger."

Trunks clenched his fists, filled with motivation. He looked at Son Gohan and said earnestly, "Gohan-gege, after Cell is dealt with, I'll return to my world. When I eliminate the androids, I'll find a way to use the Dragon Balls to revive you in my world!"

"Yeah, I believe you can definitely do it." Son Gohan smiled and patted Trunks' arm, his face filled with satisfaction. He had always valued Trunks. After all, in the world where Ling An hadn't appeared, he had interacted the most with Bulma and Trunks. Knowing what Trunks had gone through, he felt a little more heartache for him.

Everything he had faced, this Trunks had experienced as well, and even more tragically. In the end, almost all the humans on Earth were about to be annihilated by the androids. Son Gohan knew exactly what it felt like to be unable to protect anything.

Seeing Trunks with such fighting spirit and motivation, how could Son Gohan not be happy?

"Gohan-gege, I'll head back to Capsule Corporation first. I'll come back tomorrow with my dad." Trunks thought for a moment and said to Son Gohan.

Hearing this, Son Gohan nodded. But just as Trunks was about to fly off, he suddenly spoke, "Trunks, I remember Uncle Vegeta used the Gravity Training Room before. After you get back to Capsule Corporation, you can ask Aunt Bulma. Maybe that thing will help with your training."

"The Gravity Training Room, huh? I understand. Then I'll be off!" Trunks was slightly startled, then nodded to everyone. The next moment, he leaped into the air and left Kami's Lookout.
