Cassius turned his face away, his expression dark and troubled.
Finlay, always the one to stir the pot, noticed the scratches on Cassius's face and raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
"Cassius, what on earth did you do to make Nevaeh so mad? You're not thinking of... "
Before he could finish, Cassius shot him a warning glance, silencing the rest of his words.
Though no words were exchanged, Finlay understood everything from that look.
His eyes widened in surprise; he had never expected Cassius to actually fall for Nevaeh.
"Are you not working? You should spend less time here even if you have nothing to do," Cassius said, his voice tinged with irritation every time he saw Finlay.
No matter what happened between him and Nevaeh, this guy always seemed to figure it out.
Just as Finlay was about to leave, the phone from the old mansion rang.
Seeing the caller ID, Cassius's heart sank. Without hesitation, he answered.
