Samuel staggered back a few steps after taking the punch.
Looking up, he saw Cassius standing before him, radiating pure anger. Samuel remained calm, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
"Asshole," Cassius growled, throwing another punch.
He had been searching the city for Nevaeh, only to find out that Samuel had brought her here.
This time, Samuel didn't back down. Instead, he grabbed Cassius's arm, his eyes dull, his voice steady. "I'm the asshole? What about you? When she needed you, where were you? As her husband, you don't deserve her."
"What did you say?" Cassius's eyes darkened, a deep abyss of fury.
Samuel released his arm, his tone icy. "What she needs is care. If you don't love her, then you should let her go."
"Our issues are none of your business," Cassius replied, his voice colder than ice, sending a chill through the air.
Samuel smirked sarcastically. "You never understood what she truly wanted."
