Two hours later, the surgery was finally over.
"The operation went smoothly," Samuel said as he stepped out of the operating room, his tone calm but serious. "However, it will take time to see how well he recovers."
Eli nodded, relief flooding his face.
He knew recovery could take months, maybe even years, but hearing that the procedure was successful was enough.
His hands trembled as he reached out, gripping Samuel's hand gratefully.
"Thank you, Dr. Samuel. Thank you so much!" he said, his voice shaking with emotion.
But after that brief wave of gratitude, Eli's expression darkened.
His jaw clenched, and anger flickered in his eyes. "As long as my son's alive, I can handle everything else. I'm going to report this to the police. Cassius hurt my son, I want him to pay for it."
At those words, Samuel's eyes turned cold.
"You only know that Cassius is responsible," he said in a low, chilling tone, "but do you even know why he did it?"
Eli's face twisted in rage.
