After leaving the old house, Cassius went back to the estate, battered and broken.
Blood was pouring from his wounds, and the dagger was still stuck deep in his chest. Even though his body was screaming in agony, his heart felt completely numb, like all the feeling had been drained out of him.
With a sharp, painful yank, he pulled the knife out and tossed it aside with a heavy thud. He pressed his hand hard against the wound, trying to stop the bleeding as much as he could.
But his hands were already covered in blood, and now they were pressed to his chest, soaking his whole shirt in deep crimson. It was impossible to tell where all the blood was even coming from.
Hussein heard the noise and came running.When he saw the scene in front of him, he froze for a second, completely horrified. It took him a full three seconds to process it, and then he choked out, "Sir, what happened?! We need to get you to a hospital, now!"
