Chapter 45: A Hero Without a Badge
Isabella's POV
The game went on behind us, but we weren't watching anymore. After Michael stormed off the pitch with both middle fingers raised like a crown, none of us cared about the ball still being kicked around or the shouts still rising from the stands. Yvette had dragged us out of the seats almost immediately, ribbon clutched in her fist like she was leading a parade.
"Come on," she had ordered, half limping, half skipping down the stairs despite Arthur muttering something about her stitches. "My hero needs me."
Arthur rolled his eyes. "If he's your hero, then who's Superman?"
"Michael," Yvette answered without hesitation, hair flying in her face as she practically bounded down the last few steps.
