"When are they going to wake up? are you sure you didn't use to much-"
"I'm Sure, just shut up."
Mira crossed her arms, listening to Bea and Asher bicker. It was expected of brother and sister after all.
"That girl was really nice to me, so if she die's I will never forgive you!" Bea said, crossing her arms as she glared at her brother. "Bea, I'm better at using my powers than you have ever been, just chill out." Asher replied with a roll of his eyes.
"You both should just be quiet." another person spoke as they entered the room. "Clemontine, glad you're here. Juno hasn't woken up yet, and neither has her little friend." Mira said, looking over at Dex with a heavy sigh. "what'd they do with the robot leopard?" She added.
"it's in the lab next door; they want to know what exactly is being used as a battery to power it. We already know, Magrium is hard for anyone to get their hands on in this day in age, only Voxgen has managed to get their hands on Magrium. for that leopard to be able to run and have the ability to perform in the ways it has been able to, it's the only explanation." Clemontine explained, walking over to Juno and Dex, she crossed her arms.
"It's been years since I have seen any Bionics, I was hoping to keep it that way, but I guess we can't all have our way now, can we?" Clemontine said after a long pause.
"Well, once they wake up, what should we do with them?" Mira asked. "Once they wake up, I'd say just treat them like you would any new recruit" Clemontine said with a smile, and Mira looked at her slightly shocked, but she didn't ask any further questions.
Mona was in the lab, hooked to a bunch of cables. they didn't want to take her apart, afraid they wouldn't be able to put her back together. hours passed with no sign of Juno or Dex waking up.
however, eventually the sound of coughing was heard as Juno came to. Her eyes opened as she found herself in a room she did not recognize, her vision slowly starting to steady. "What...happened...?" she said. Juno attempted to move her arms and legs, but something was keeping them still, that was when she realized she was in a chair, tied up by nothing. Perhaps an ability of some sort was currently in use.
"Finally, your awake! nice to see you again old 'friend'" Mira said, bending down to Juno's seated level. "I thought I'd never see you again, not after you... ratted me out." she said, with a half-annoyed expression.
It took Juno a moment to catch on to what was being talked about, but once she did, she let out a heavy sigh. "Mira, we were both young, I didn't know that telling them what you were was going to lead to what they did." Juno said in her defense.
"Of course you didn't know, well now look at you, look at where you are now. You chose to be a bionic, you became one, yet you still don't seem satisfied, if you where you would be in that building right now, following orders like a puppet, but no. You broke out, you just make things so much more difficult for yourself." Mira Replied.
The two of them had history, back when Spirit gifted where still amongst society, despite discrimination thanks to Voxgen painting them in a bad light.
the spirit gifted where people born with powers naturally, bionics were given powers artificially. But there was a broader term that bionics fit under called Second Born's. Anyone who is biologically related to a spirit gifted elder, and the elders themselves, could make a Second Born. But a Second Born could not make another Second Born.
Juno's eyes met Mira's "I didn't though. you don't know how horrible that place was, and if I had the choice I would have never become a Bionic" Juno said, lowering her head.
"You don't know the things I have been through or seen. I'm sorry I told them about you and your family, but I couldn't have known they would..."
"They would what Juno? Kill them?! how could you of all people, not know that?!" Mira responded, finishing Juno's sentence.
Juno was about to respond, when the large double doors swung open, and in walked a short male figure, he was buff and had a tattoo of a blue snake coiled around a sword on his arm. His hair was nonexistent, but he had a beard. "Mira, glad I found ya!" the man spoke. His voice was raspy and deep, and his grey eyes landed on Juno, who was staring at him. "Should I tell boss that she's up?" the man asked, his gaze shifting back to Mira.
"No, it's fine I got it Paul! what'd you need?" Mira asked him with a raised eyebrow.
Paul opened his mouth to speak, when someone they all seemed to forget was there, woke up. "Ugh... what the heck, where am I...?" Dex groaned, rubbing his eyes of sleep.
Juno looked over at Dex and smiled "glad to see your alive, I actually don't know where we are." Juno said, looking over at Mira.
Mira sighed and face palmed "you are both in the SGS headquarters." she explained, receiving looks of confusion from both Juno and Dex "What now?" Dex asked, tilting his head in confusion.
Mira looked over at Paul, and he nodded, looking over at the double doors. "Were heading to the lap, we can show you two around the place on the way there!" Paul said, walking to the doors, he lifted his hands, and a glowing white energy flowed around him like ribbons up to his arms and down to his hand's, a large current of wind was then felt pushing against the large doors, pushing them open.
the doors slowly creaked open and the man walked forward.
Juno and Dex both looked at each other, the both of them then shrugged and followed Paul out, Mira then walked out behind them.
looking around, it looked like they were in a giant cave, the walls and ceiling a mix of rock and crystal, in the center was a giant crystal hanging down. they were walking along a pathway built over water, everything seemed to be floating, it was a whole civilization, town square was in the middle, with a large castle-like structure and a water fountain right underneath the large crystal. the buildings were all made from rock and crystal of all different colors. and everyone seemed to travel in bubbles.
it reminded Juno a little of Neon City, just a little less tech and more of just pure magic.
Dex looked over the railing of the walkway they were on, down below he could see there was nothing holding it up, this solidified the theory that they were indeed on a floating city. "This is SGS, better known as, the Spirit Gifted Society!" Paul explained.
Turning around, he walked backwards and began to explain more, going into deeper details about the city and how it came to be. How old it was, the leaders, etc.
"This lovely city was founded hundreds of years ago, after the first spirit gifted elder had been banished and outcast from society, he came here and created second Born's to help create this city for the future generations! His name was Agimus, wielder of the wishing gift! he died with his work not in vain, as our new leaders have made this home for us now in the future!" Paul said with a smile.
"He wished to turn this into a home for us, and he needed all the power he could get in order to make it come true, which is why he made the sacrifice of creating Second Born's!"
Paul explained, walking further. the group stopped at an elevator and Paul pushed the button. It took a few minutes and then the door opened. Everyone walked into the elevator, and Paul pressed the up button.
"Now, if you don't know. Not all Spirit Gifted can make Second Born's, this is because their abilities are unable to create something new, the ability is one. an example would be Elder Ozyth, wilder of time manipulation. he has tried however he is unable to make any Second Born's. Some think this gift to make Second Born's is a curse, as the more a Spirit Gifted makes one, the more it corrupts them and their ability. A prime example would be that traitor. the son of Elder Vorren wilder of Technomancy, Dorian." Paul said as the elevator went up and eventually stopped, opening up. The group then walked out of the elevator and to the lab.
Paul took out his key card and scanned it.
"His obsession with a prophecy drove that man insane, to the point he even murdered his own wife." Paul said in disgust as he scanned his key card, the door making a hissing sound as it opened.
