Chapter 7 - The Awareness of Madness

Samuel and Clara Corvin went to school…

As if nothing had changed.

The day unfolded with the bland normalcy of routine.

Lessons learned, pencils sharpened, lunch eaten.

Classmates smiled and laughed.

Yet… in the back of their minds…

A dark, gnawing awareness lurked.

The next day… the weekend…

A supposed time of rest.

Instead, it became a prison.

Samuel sat in his dim room.

Alone.

Trembling.

The walls seemed to breathe.

Close.

Closer.

Like the hands of those women…

Those whispers…

Those soft giggles…

Reaching.

He curled into himself, a broken coil of flesh and fear.

The urge clawed at him.

Demanded release.

"Do it…do it… do it…"

But he couldn't speak.

The words were trapped.

The shame suffocating.

Meanwhile…

Clara…

Couldn't stay in her room.

Nor outside.

Everywhere…

Eyes.

Gazes… imaginary, yet unbearably real.

They followed her.

From the trees.

The shadows.

The very walls.

Each glance…

A blade carving deeper into her psyche.

She was not ten.

Not yet an adult.

But old beyond reason.

Her tears fell in silent torrents as the invisible eyes tore her apart…

Unforgiving.

RELENTLESS.

Some whispered…

That Samuel was simply "growing up"

But he didn't know how to grow.

Some murmured…

That Clara was "just confused"

But she didn't even understand what to be confused about.

And it was not just the children…

The parents…

Elena and Edward…

They were already beyond the threshold of reason.

Too far gone.

Too far into… the abyss.

They cheated.

On each other

Knowing.

Acknowledging every stolen glance.

Every unfaithful touch.

Every sordid transaction of flesh and guilt.

Yet…

They could not stop.

Because Lust…

Was not a fleeting whim.

Not a mistake.

It was… inevitable.

A parasite that whispered…

"go further…go deeper… never stop"

They had gone…

Too far.

Too far gone.

Too…far.
