Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: First Cargo

The Adder rolled smoothly into Cypress Flats, its engine humming like it knew it was expensive.

Industrial buildings stretched across the horizon—steel siding, rusted fences, loading docks, and trucks parked in crooked lines. Compared to Rockford Hills, the place felt rough, but Sera didn't mind. This was where money got made.

She turned into the lot of her newly purchased warehouse and slowly parked near the entrance.

The engine idled for a moment before she shut it off.

For a few seconds she just sat there, looking at the building.

Her warehouse.

Her warehouse, God, That felt good to say.

Sera pulled out her phone and sent a message.

Sera:I'm here.

A few minutes passed.

The warehouse door creaked open and an older man stepped outside, wiping grease off his hands with a rag. He had the look of someone who'd spent most of his life around engines—weathered face, oil-stained jeans, and a posture that said he knew his way around a wrench.

He spotted the Adder immediately.

Sera stepped out of the car and locked it, the quiet chirp echoing in the lot.

The man gave a long whistle.

"Damn," he said, nodding toward the car. "How much was that beauty?"

Sera smirked slightly.

"Would you believe me if I said it was free?"

"Yeah right," he chuckled. "And I'm the mayor of Los Santos."

He extended a hand.

"Name's T-Wrench."

"Sera."

He nodded toward the warehouse behind him.

"Well Sera, this is your new business venture—the small vehicle cargo operation."

He gestured toward the industrial buildings around them.

"Not the big-time CEO warehouses yet. Those guys move supercars worth millions. But this?" He tapped the side of the building. "This is how people start."

Sera crossed her arms slightly, listening.

"You get enough money flowing," he continued, "you'll start buying the bigger warehouses. I'm talking stealing cars worth millions, selling them for millions. You'll be swimming in cash."

Sera nodded once.

"So how do I get started?"

T-Wrench jerked a thumb toward the inside.

"There's a computer in your office. Special network. You log in, it'll show vehicles available for sourcing."

He walked with her into the warehouse as he continued explaining.

"Stuff like Feltzers, Comets, mid-range sports cars. They're worth a few hundred grand. You steal 'em, bring 'em back here in pristine condition, then flip them for slightly under market price."

He shrugged.

"Everybody wins. Except the original owner."

Sera smiled slightly.

"Works for me."

T-Wrench clapped his hands once.

"Well, that's the basics. I'll let you get to it."

He headed toward the exit.

"Good luck, boss."

The warehouse door shut behind him.

Silence settled inside.

Sera walked upstairs to the small office overlooking the floor. The room had a desk, a rolling chair, and a computer already powered on.

She sat down.

Cracked her neck.

Let out a long breath.

"Time to grind."

She logged into the system.

Within seconds a sourcing opportunity appeared.

A notification popped onto her phone.

Car Type: Feltzer

Location: Little Seoul

Sera nodded.

"The Feltzer…" she muttered. "Used to love this car."

Her eyes flicked to the map.

Little Seoul.

The gas station near the Ammu-Nation just north of the beach.

She stood up and walked back outside.

The Adder unlocked with a chirp as she approached.

The engine purred to life the moment she started it, the sound echoing across the empty industrial lot. She revved it once before pulling out onto the street.

A few minutes later she reached Little Seoul.

She parked the Adder a short distance away from the target location and stepped out.

Before doing anything else, she pulled out her phone and dialed her mechanic.

After a ring, the familiar voice answered.

"I'm Johnny-on-the-spot, I'll hook ya up!"

"Hey," Sera said. "I parked my Adder near Little Seoul. I need it picked up and delivered to my garage."

"No problem," he replied immediately.

She hung up.

Can't just leave that thing sitting out here, she thought.

This wasn't a game. In the real Los Santos, someone would steal a car like that within minutes.

She checked her weapon wheel, making sure her taser was selected.

Satisfied, Sera started walking toward the target location.

Time to steal her first car for the business.

A few meters from where the Feltzer sat parked near the gas station, a small group of guys stood around it.

One of them, clearly the owner, leaned against the hood like he was posing for a magazine.

"I'm telling you guys," he bragged, patting the car, "it was a total steal. Got this beauty for about 150k."

His friends stared at him for a moment.

Then they burst out laughing.

Even Sera, standing a few meters away leaning casually against a wall with her phone to her ear like she was on a call, couldn't help but chuckle under her breath.

One of the guys shook his head."You dumbass. The car costs like 145k."

The owner blinked.

"What—what? But I saved up so much money for this car!"

His friends laughed even harder.

Sera almost felt bad.

Wow… I'm about to steal this guy's brand-new car, she thought. That's rough.

Then the guy added proudly,

"Yeah, I even mugged a few old people sometimes."

Sera's sympathy vanished instantly.

Okay. Feelings over.

One of his friends slapped him on the shoulder.

"Come on, moron. Let's grab some snacks inside before you embarrass yourself more."

The group headed into the gas station, still laughing at him.

Sera pushed herself off the wall the second the door closed behind them.

Opportunity.

She walked calmly over to the Feltzer.

Quick glance around.

Still clear.

She crouched slightly, pulling out a small lockpick set.

It took one second.

Click.

Door open.

She slipped inside and immediately started working under the steering column.

Another second.

Spark.

Engine alive.

The Feltzer roared to life.

Sera didn't waste time.

She pulled out of the gas station smoothly just as the group inside noticed what was happening.

In the rearview mirror she saw the owner burst out the door.

"HEY! THAT'S MY CAR!"

His friends ran out behind him, yelling and pointing.

Sera only smirked slightly as she drove away.

Within seconds she was leaving Little Seoul behind, the engine humming steadily.

Honestly… it hadn't been that hard.

Wasn't so bad, she thought.

Traffic moved normally as she drove toward Cypress Flats, blending in like just another driver on the road.

A few minutes later the warehouse came into view.

She pulled into the lot and drove the Feltzer straight inside, parking it neatly on the concrete floor.

Engine off.

Job done.

Sera pulled out her phone and called T-Wrench.

He answered after two rings.

"Yeah?"

"The Feltzer's in the warehouse."

There was a pause.

Then a whistle.

"Damn. You work fast."

Sera leaned casually against the car.

"Wasn't exactly a challenge."

"Good job," T-Wrench said. "Client should come by later to pick it up. Any mods they want ain't our problem anymore."

He chuckled.

"You did the hard part. We just sell the thing."

"So when do I get paid?" Sera asked.

"End of the day," he replied. "Money'll show up in your account."

"Nice."

She hung up.

A moment later she pulled out her phone again and called her mechanic.

Her ride back.

After a few rings the familiar voice answered.

"I'm Johnny-on-the-spot, I'll hook ya up!"

"I need my Adder delivered to the Cypress Flats warehouse."

"Gotcha."

She hung up and waited outside the warehouse.

The wind rolled softly through the industrial district as she stretched her arms slightly.

A few minutes later, her Adder pulled into the lot, freshly delivered.

Sera smiled as she walked toward it.

Sliding into the driver's seat, she leaned back and let out a satisfied sigh.

"All in a good day's grind."
