Liana's POV:
I had prepared everything before we even got here. I remembered asking Alena what kind of room she would like, and she had said she wanted to live underwater.
Well, I couldn't exactly make that happen, but I had transformed the room to feel like an underwater world. I'd also laid out all kinds of clothes in her size that she might love.
As Alena opened the door, she giggled and clapped her little hands. "These are so beautiful, Angel!"
I smiled and stepped closer to her. From the corner of my eye, I saw Ethilia frown slightly, then walk toward us. Her eyes widened as we stepped into the walk-in closet.
The closet was bright and welcoming. Tiny shoes were neatly lined on low shelves, drawers labeled with cute animal stickers held folded clothes, and colorful baskets of toys peeked out from every corner.
A doorway connected the closet to the bathroom, making the space feel cozy and practical.
Ethilia turned to me with a little frown. "Liana, you're gonna spoil her," she said, though there was a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
I bent down slightly to pick up a nightdress, a soft blue shirt, and a pair of shorts. "I will," I admitted with a grin, "because I know you're more than capable of keeping her in line. And between parents, one of us should be chill so she can actually enjoy her life." I winked at her.
Ethilia blinked a few times, probably because I'd just called us Alena's parents. Then her face softened into a warm smile.
She crouched down and scooped Alena up into her arms. "Let's give her a bath, then?"
I nodded, and we walked toward the bathroom together. I had made sure there was no bathtub because Alena was only three, and I didn't want any accidents.
The shower area was spacious and filled with baby-friendly products, perfect for her age and delicate skin.
We bathed her, and I ended up completely soaked as Alena was jumping and enjoying splashing water at us. I sighed as I grabbed a towel to start drying her.
Ethilia chuckled beside me, "See? Go on, spoil her more. You love it, don't you?"
I finished drying Alena and helped her into soft, comfortable nightwear, then ruffled her hair gently. "Go down now, okay? Moms will join you later."
Alena nodded eagerly and ran out of the room, giggling all the way. I smirked and turned to Ethilia. "Well… I love spoiling her more than anything. Now, shall we go see our room?"
Ethilia nodded and took my hand. "Let's go. I'm already soaked and need a bath."
I draped an arm around her shoulders and leaned close, "Hmm… soaked exactly where?" I was teasing her, but the little shiver that ran through her made me realize, yep, I definitely had some effect on her.
She cleared her throat, smacked my arm lightly, and said, "Clothes, you ass. Let's go." Her cheeks were pink, and I couldn't help but grin at the effect I had on her.
I felt a flutter of nerves, wondering if she would like our room. I had tried to keep it mostly light blue and white, her favorite colors, but still… what if it wasn't enough?
I bit my lip and led the way, glancing at her before I pushed the door open slightly, but then I paused.
She frowned and turned to me, "What's wrong? Open it." I could hear the excitement in her voice, which made me more nervous.
I could tell she suspected I had prepared a little something extra in our room, and I hated being so obvious about it.
"Okay… but promise me something," I said, licking my lower lip nervously. "If you love the room… you'll have to do something for me."
She blinked a few times and swallowed hard before narrowing her eyes, "What exactly? Are you being a pervert or what?"
My eyes widened, and I crossed my arms, but then she sneezed suddenly. I rubbed her back quickly. "Bless you. Are you okay?"
She nodded, and I finally pushed the door open. She blinked, rubbed her nose, and then looked around the room, her eyes widening as a soft smile curved her lips.
The room was simple but elegant. The bed sat in the center, surrounded by flickering candles that cast a warm, gentle glow.
A bookshelf held our favorite reads, and a small table near the balcony offered a breathtaking view of the garden below. The cool breeze drifting in felt refreshing against our skin.
But what drew her gaze the most was the picture of us above the bed, Laura had snapped it while we were sitting on the swing, capturing a moment that felt perfectly ours.
One wall was completely adorned with photos of every memory we had shared, and fresh roses sat delicately on the bedside table.
The dim lighting added a soft, romantic ambiance, making the room feel intimate and special.
She inhaled softly, her gaze lingering on every detail, her smile growing with each passing second.
