Chapter 2 - Abilities and Magic

Ever since the system awakened on his first birthday, Vitt had been playing house with the Maid, wielding toy wooden armor and swords. He leveled up One-Handed Weapons, Two-Handed Weapons, Blocking, Archery, Light Armor, and Speechcraft. However, after reaching level 5, these skills stopped increasing. Clearly, the potential of the toys had been exhausted; he'd need the real deal to advance further.

The Blacksmith Shop in the castle was responsible for forging and maintaining weapons, but the furnace and blacksmith guards prevented children from entering. He could only gain a few points by fiddling with leather. There was no Alchemy Table for Enchanting. In the afternoon, he focused on Alchemy, and his proficiency reached level 5 after consuming so many strange ingredients.

Alchemy involved using the Alchemy Table to create special Alchemy Potions from raw materials through magic. These potions could restore Life, Stamina, and Magic, as well as provide magic resistance. Some potions even had unique effects, like underwater breathing.

As one of the three god-tier skills in the original game, Vitt valued Alchemy greatly. However, after the two worlds merged, things became too hardcore to level up.

The main way to level up Alchemy was by creating Alchemy Potions and gaining experience. First, he needed Alchemy ingredients, and then he needed to know the effects of each ingredient. The only way to learn the effects was to eat them, which also granted a small amount of Alchemy proficiency.

He'd eaten White Berries, Wheat, Silver-Edged Bass, salt, eggs, honey, and gnawed on Deer Antlers. These were considered food by ordinary people, but to an alchemist, they were potion ingredients.

Then there were the Alchemy ingredients: Giant's Toe. Giants existed beyond the Wall, but aside from the issue of how to eat a decades-unwashed toe, he'd first have to defeat the giant to chop off the toe. That would definitely be a first-hand experience of Westeros' version of a giant-powered flight.

Then there's finding alchemy materials like the Heart of the Demon Race, Snow Elf's Ear, and Nain Root, which I have no clue about. I wouldn't dare eat any mushrooms either.

Alchemy material: Imp's Feces? Tyrion Lannister will be called the Imp later. Eat Imp's Feces?

I won't mess with Alchemy for now. It's easy to get myself killed, not to mention offending those around me. I'll figure it out later. For now, let's add some skill points.

It's been over two years since the system awakened. With these little arms and legs, I've spent a lot of effort to save up 19 Free Points. Since the system doesn't provide any information, I've had to figure things out on my own, so I've been saving them all this time.

In this world, which is about to be thrown into chaos, I need to be tough and have high defense first! The wealthy noble lords all wear Plate Armor, a whole suit of iron, and carry fine weapons. The poor can only gamble with their lives. Without antibiotics, a serious injury means you're at the mercy of others. It's best to ensure the other side dies first.

Add 5 Free Points each to Life, Endurance, and Magic. Each Free Point increases an attribute by 10 points. After adding the points, my body started to heat up and turn slightly red, but it returned to normal in less than a minute. The Maid, who was fanning away mosquitoes nearby, didn't notice anything unusual. But Vitt clearly felt his life force was more abundant, his stamina was higher, and his magic power was greater. The doubled attributes were the most noticeable.

In terms of appearance, my body, not yet three years old, already shows hints of bulging muscles. My actual physical strength is approaching that of an adult. It's only a matter of time before I surpass the human limit with more additions.

I didn't expect my current body attributes to be close to an adult's. That's so overpowered? But the Dragonborn's opponents are also mages, monsters, and beasts. They can even fight dragons with their bare bodies! Thinking about that, it makes sense. Once you enter the extraordinary, your opponents will also be extraordinary.

[According to the current system rules, there's a limit to the total Free Points that can be obtained. If all 18 skills are maxed out, there's a total of 600 Free Points. Averaging them across the three Attributes would only give 200 points each, barely exceeding 2000 in total. That means the best physical condition is only 20 times that of an adult. Fighting a giant dragon? Seems like I'd just be a snack, right?]

After allocating the Attribute points, there were 4 Free Points remaining. Since this place is more realistic than the game, Vitt planned to explore things slowly, step by step, and wasn't in a rush to add points.

He used his consciousness to open the Broken Item Space. It only contained some items from the original game. All the weapons, armor, and materials had already been crushed into powder and leaked out when it was first opened. A gust of wind blew through, and there was nothing left. The only things remaining in the space were books.

All the books were jumbled together in the space, so he could only grab them from the opening, like opening a blind box.

This time, he pulled out two books: The Black Tragedy and Transformation Magic Book: Lumos. He remembered that in the game, spells had to be learned from books, and reading books could also increase skill levels. Since he was young and couldn't do anything else, he decided to read more books.

His consciousness entered the Dragonborn option. All sorts of Dragon Shout skills were grayed out, accompanied by countless chaotic, jumbled, and unknown low-pitched languages. The longer his consciousness lingered here, the louder the sounds became, the more powerful, and the more seductive the language.

Vitt quickly exited the consciousness space. He realized that the Dragon Shouts in the Dragonborn option weren't like in the game, where you could just add points to use them. Those texts also stored the knowledge passed down by the giant dragons with magic power. He didn't know anything about it now, and he couldn't understand its meaning at all.

In the Breezeway Fortress's underground warehouse, a fist-sized orb of light revolved around Vitt, illuminating the entire space.

It took a week to finish reading the book and understand the Lumos spell. Unlike in the game, where you just click the mouse to learn from a magic book, this world's system required a deep understanding. The spellbook was filled with analyses of Lumos' principles, magic operation, and release rules. Vitt had to constantly practice based on the book's content, and today, he finally succeeded in casting his first spell.

Excited as he was, he found a serious problem: mana recovery was incredibly slow!

Recovering from the consumption of just a beginner spell would take days. He couldn't make any recovery potions for now. Only when the Magic Dragon revived and magic returned to this world would his recovery speed increase. For now, he could only exhaust his mana each time and wait for it to recover, continuously training to improve his magic proficiency.

He also wondered, if he gave the Lumos book to someone else with magical abilities, could they also cast Lumos if they understood the content?

He had also finished and understood the book The Black Tragedy. The effect of studying it was that his Enchanting skill increased by 1 level. He then opened the system panel:

Name: Vitt Baratheon

Age: 2 years, 4 months

Attributes (Average for Adults: 100): Life 100, Magic 150, Endurance 100.

Body Skills (Max Level 100): One-Handed Weapons 5, Two-Handed Weapons 5, Block 5, Archery 5, Light Armor 5, Heavy Armor 0, Shield 0.

Life Skills: Speechcraft 15, Lockpicking 5, Pickpocketing 5, Smithing 5.

Free Points: 4

Talents: Dragonborn, Broken Item Space, Magic Affinity.

It seemed like there was a way out after all. All skills had a way to improve, especially the magic-oriented ones. He also needed to understand their principles. Thinking about it, since he was young and couldn't do much, learning knowledge was the most important thing.
