A few days before the battle of all our lives, we all had a feast in the dining hall consisting of pork, venison, fruits and vegetables, with an abundance of wine and ale. For some of us, this would be our final feast… maybe even all of us. So, we made sure to make it count. We sang songs of old wise tales, cheered each other, danced, and got piss drunk on sweet red. People laughed and smiled with their bellies full, and just enjoyed time with their friends and families.
Celest pulled me aside from the crowd, as she grabbed the back of my neck with her palm and gave a kiss so heavenly you would have thought Cupid himself shot a love arrow into her back.
I grabbed her waist and pulled her in even closer… after a moment of intense, deeply profound passionate romance between her and I, we looked into each other's eyes, as we rocked back and forth, holding each other tightly. She buried her face into my chest, as I put my chin on top of her head, taking this moment of peace into my soul to take with me into the afterlife if my time is coming soon.
As we were swaying slowly together, I asked, "Marry me!" subtly.
She poked her head out and said, "Are you serious?!"
"Yes, be my queen."
"I would love that, ser Alex!" she said, with pure joy in her eyes, and smiled with approval.
"There is no one I would rather spend the rest of my life, kicking ass with and doing it together…"
"Forever." She said, finishing my sentence.
"I'll ask your father for his blessing."
"Do it now! So, we can do it tomorrow! We may not have the next day… no time like the present!"
"Yes, milady! I will do it this very second."
So, we made our way through the lively crowd and finally found him drinking and being one amongst the people of the kingdom.
"My king! I love your daughter and I have asked for her hand in marriage… I would love your blessing, sire!"
"You may have it, my boy! You two are good for each other. So, yes, you have my blessing, ser Alex. Who am I to stand in the way of true love."
"Thank you, father!!" she yelled, as she hugged him tightly.
"Anything for you, my sweet daughter!"
"Thank you, my king!"
"Everyone! I am pleased to announce the proposal of my very own daughter and her exceptional partner, Alexander! Cheers to you both! The wedding will take place at first light tomorrow in the throne room. Now, let us drink till we can't drink anymore!!" he yelled, as everyone cheered us on in our honor.
The next day, everyone gathered in the throne room, as I stood up on the altar in my formal clothing, waiting for Celest to come down the aisle. I began to sweat, as all eyes were on me.
A violin started playing as Celest came into sight. There she was… standing there in a very colorful dress, looking elegant and understated, with her radiance beaming with electric beauty.
King Titus walked her slowly down the aisle, arm linked with arm. The king looked emotional, as his eyes were glazed with joyful, intimate tears. Finally, he handed her off to me, as I shook his hand. "Take care of her, my boy!"
"I will, sir!"
Bishop Stevens stood behind us, as we held each other's hands and looked into each other's eyes. "We are gathered here today to celebrate the special love between Celest and Alex. You may now read your vows to each other."
"I, Alex, vow to protect you, love you, and nurture you through sickness and health, until my last dying breath. Celest, we may not have much more time left with each other, but if I die tomorrow, I will die a happy man with no regrets… not because I have lived a full life… no! it is because I found you… My soul mate, who was sent to me by the Gods themselves. You are my reason to live, you are my reason to fight, and you are my reason to love! I love you now and forever!"
"I, Celest, vow to love, respect, and fight for you through good times and bad. You are the best thing that has ever come into my life. When I met you, I knew that there was something special about you… Why do you think I stayed strong in my persistence to pursue you… I needed you, and I still do! If there is ever a time when I am not with you any longer… fear not, for I am with you always in your heart, telling you to keep fighting!! I love you now and forever."
"Now, do you, Celest, take Alex to be your husband?"
"I do!" she said, as she smiled.
"Do you, Alex, take Celest, to be your wife?"
"I do!"
"By the power in me invested in the Gods, you may now kiss the bride!" he said, as we shared a true love kiss as a newly wedded couple under the Gods.
"I now pronounce you husband… and wife!" he said, as everyone cheered us on, throwing flowers in the air, as we made our way to my quarters to drink and celebrate by making sweet, passionate love, as we are one body, heart and soul, now and always, forever…
