Chapter 38 - Open Hearts

Public and Proud

It was time. They walked into campus together, side by side, hands brushing as if by accident—but this time, they didn't hide it.

Whispers started almost immediately, but neither flinched. Tawan's fingers slid into Fah's, squeezing lightly. "We're not hiding anymore," he said, voice confident.

Fah felt a thrill as heads turned, some surprised, some smiling in approval. The gossip didn't matter. For the first time, they were free.

Throughout the day, stolen glances, playful nudges, and subtle touches reminded them that the bond they'd built behind closed doors was now open to the world. They laughed together, shared quiet jokes, and even held hands openly in the courtyard.

Later, back at Tawan's apartment, they collapsed on the couch, tangled together, laughing at how easy it felt now.

"You know," Tawan whispered, brushing his nose against Fah's, "I like the idea of never hiding anything from you again."

Fah smiled, resting his head against Tawan's shoulder. "Me too. Always."

And for the first time, their world felt complete—no secrets, no barriers, just two hearts fully entwined, confident in love, and ready for whatever came next.
