A true Devil appearing inside a dungeon was not unheard of. Most of the time, however, such encounters were sudden—brief sightings or abrupt manifestations that brought unexpected challenges to those aiming to become starred warriors.
Dungeons were places steeped in violence and isolation. That environment allowed Death Sinks to form at random. On top of that, there existed monsters of higher rank—beings with intelligence and strength enough to tempt a Devil into striking a deal.
Because of this, Devils had appeared during trials before.
But this case was different.
This was the third floor.
And more than that—the presence radiating from the creature was far too dense, pressing down on the space itself.
"There's no doubt about it," William muttered, wiping the blood from the corner of his lip. "It's a ranked Devil."
