Vivian's body kept trembling, his arms and legs twitching like a puppet being pulled by unseen strings.
Charlotte stood frozen, her mind blank and her heart pounding so hard it hurt.
Then, as if waking from a daze, she threw away the dagger and stumbled toward him, her legs shaking so much she almost fell.
"Vivian…." she mumbled.
Each step felt heavy, fear made her chest tight, yet hope burned faintly inside her.
She reached out her hand, wanting to touch him, to make sure this wasn't just a cruel dream.
But before her fingers could reach him, a blinding light burst out from Vivian's body, bright enough to paint the whole room white.
The force of it pushed her back, knocking her onto the cold ground.
Charlotte shielded her eyes, blinking through tears as the light grew stronger and warmer.
It wasn't just any light, she knew this glow.
It was the same light as the Vehemoth pair when they fused together.
Her lips trembled as she whispered, "Vivian…"
