Chapter 5 - Asia and Answers (Not)

"So you're telling me that you were getting attacked by a fallen angel, you unlocked your sacred gear, and that you managed to scare her off, but the moment she tried to retreat she got impaled by multiple weapons by a woman named Irisviel Von Einzbern?" "Yes, Buchou, that's exactly what happened."

Rias let out a long sigh after hearing that. "It seems that someone has invaded our territory. We also have fallen as well. Our next course of action is to spend time gathering info. We'll investigate this later. Congratulations on unlocking your sacred gear, though, Issei."

The Next Day

"GOOD MORNING, ISSEI!"

Issei's head spun back. His head spun so fast I thought he was going to snap his own neck. He groaned, rubbing his temple. "Bro, why do you yell like that? My head's pounding…" I shrugged, adjusting my bag. "Maybe it's divine punishment for all the hentai you hoard. Have you ever thought of that?"

He flinched a little when I said divine, but I ignored that. I started to walk with Issei to school and make some conversation with him. But randomly, he bumped into a little nun while talking to me. The moment he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was panties. After a quick peek, he straightened up.

"My apologies, I didn't see you." "No, it's mine. I should've been looking closely."

I quickly realized something here. Asia was speaking Italian, not Japanese. This isn't good for me. While Asia was embarrassed about Issei seeing her panties, I was thinking about ways I could communicate with her. Wait, can she speak English? I could try that. That'd be easier for us.

Good enough. I smiled, trying to ease the tension. "My name's Shirou Kotomine. What's yours?" She bowed slightly, clutching the strap of her bag. "Asia. Asia Argento." Issei leaned close, whispering, "Yo, Shirou, she's cute as hell." I smacked his shoulder. "She's a nun, idiot. Keep your thoughts holy for once." Asia tilted her head, confused, but quickly forced a nervous smile. "Um… I'm looking for the church… b-but I got lost. Since no one can understand me, it has become a hassle."

"If you're looking for the church, me and Issei will be glad to help you. We know where it is." She instantly lit up and replied, "Do you really mean it? This too is surely guidance from the LORD." Issei started foaming from the mouth when she said LORD. Asia tried to help, but he just waved it off. We were about to be on our way leaving, but we heard a young boy cry. Asia instantly ran towards him to heal him. She told the kid to stop crying and then started to heal him.

"There! Your boo-boo is all better now. You'll be just fine. The boy instantly called his mom and tried to introduce his mom to Asia, but she just looked at her in disgust. Me and Asia had to hold him back from socking the bastard right in the face. The church loomed ahead, its shadow stretching across the path. Asia's steps grew quicker, her face bright with relief. "Finally! Thank you both so much for guiding me here."

She turned, bowing politely. I smiled, but beside me, Issei stiffened like someone just dropped ice water down his back. His breathing grew shallow, his fists trembling. "Oi, what's wrong?" I asked, pretending not to notice what I already knew. "N-nothing…" His voice cracked as sweat slid down his temple. His body looked like it was barely holding together, every muscle twitching as if invisible fire licked at his skin.

Asia tilted her head, completely oblivious. "Are you tired? I'm sorry, I made you walk so far…" I stepped in smoothly before Issei could open his mouth. "Yeah, he's just tired. Slept late again playing games all night." I gave a light laugh, waving it off. Issei tried to force a chuckle too, but it came out more like a strangled cough. "Y-yeah, that's all. Heh…" "Please rest well, then," Asia said gently, clasping her hands. "And may the Lord bless you both."

Issei flinched at the word LORD, nearly buckling, but I kept my hand firm on his shoulder to steady him. "Thanks," I said quickly, cutting off any awkward silence. "We'll get going now. Take care, Asia." She bowed once more, her smile pure as sunlight, before heading through the old church doors.

As we arrived at school, I was thinking about my future plans. I was also thinking about future servants. Certain servants like Semiramis and Medea would be hard to work with. Also, is there a limit of servants I can summon? And the bigger question: how do these Servants remain anchored in our world? Is it purely because of the Grail in my dreams? Or is there some other force binding them, some invisible thread connecting them to this reality? Welp, I'll just chalk it all up to anime logic and bullshit.

Issei went to the ORC. He'll probably get scolded for being too close to the church.

Timeskip – Issei POV

"Ugh… soft…" That was the first thing that registered when I opened my eyes, not the light filtering through the curtains, not the faint smell of perfume in the air, but softness. My face was buried in something warm and… oh crap. "Good morning, Issei," Rias' smooth, teasing voice drifted above me. "R-Rias senpai!?" Her grin widened. "Oh? You're awake now? You seemed so peaceful, I didn't want to disturb you. Though…" She tilted her head playfully. "You were moving quite a bit in your sleep."

She raised a finger to my lips. "Relax, Issei. I promise you'll get to touch them one day." I blinked. "Wait… what?" "But," she added, that devilish smile returning, "that offer comes with one little condition. You'll have to form a devil's contract with a devil. You help someone in need, fulfill their wish, and in return… you can have a little reward." The moment Rias got out of bed, Issei lay in bed dumbfounded. Then he immediately got up and got on his bike. Today would be the day he would finally get a contract.

Hiyaa, I'm an envoy from the House of Gremory! Anyone home?

Issei stepped into the house and looked around. Something felt off. Then he noticed the smell—iron, blood. He followed it and found him. A man, pinned against the wall, needles sticking out from his body. Next to him, a message written in blood: "Everyone who sins is a slave to sin." Issei froze, the words sinking in. Whoever did this was not fucking around. Before he could start drawing conclusions, a man stepped out the door. He had white hair and a wild look on his face.

"Well, if it isn't my lucky day," the man said. "I love chopping up devil folk, whether they're here or there. I'm a nihilist who cuts them down, and I do it with a sneer!" Instead of looking scared, our protagonist felt a little awkward. This wasn't really what he expected when he'd see the monster who created this mess. "My name is Freed Sellzen, and I'm a priest working for the Church." He pulled out a gun with a cross on it; the pommel began emitting a blue saber. "I'm done talking to you, shitty devil. I'll cut to the chase and kill you."

With that, he lunged at Issei and swung the saber at him. Issei dodged just in the nick of time, but unfortunately a bullet hit him in the knee. "How do you like that, shitty devil? Huh, doesn't it? I'll reduce you to dust, dancing in the wind, all for my pleasure!" Before Freed could follow up with that attack, a blonde-haired nun stepped in front of him. "Please stop, why are you doing such awful things to Issei San!?" "That's a laugh. What type of shitty love story with a devil and a nun is this?" Freed sneered. Asia looked shocked. "That's right," Freed continued, "he's the shittiest of shitty devils." Freed kept taunting Asia while her expression grew increasingly fearful.

Freed pointed his gun back at Issei, but before he could pull the trigger again, Asia stepped back in front of him. "Please let Issei go!" she pleaded, her voice trembling but firm. "Are you some sort of idiot? Devils cannot be trusted, they're nothing but shit. Didn't they teach you that at church? Is your head in the gutter or something?"

He yelled back at her. Before she could continue, she hit him with his pistol. "I was told not to kill you, but I'm allowed to do whatever I want with you as long as you're alive. It shouldn't be a problem if I just play with you a little bit, okay?" The priest raised his blade again, its edge glinting in the dim light. Issei froze, his posture tense as if he were preparing for the impossible. No matter how weak he seemed, he couldn't abandon the girl who had just risked herself to protect him.

"Is he really going to fight?" someone murmured from the side, watching him brace himself. The priest let out a sharp whistle, amusement clear in his eyes. "Seriously? You're going to fight me? You'll die, and it'll hurt a lot!" He leapt, swinging his sword in a deadly arc. The floor around Issei began to glow with a blue-and-white light. Magic. A circle formed, intricate and pulsating. Everyone watching knew instantly: this was the signature of the Gremory household. Then, like stepping out of a doorway between worlds, devils appeared from the circle: Kiba, Akeno, Koneko, all of them. Relief was evident on Issei's face, though he tried to mask it. "Hyoudou-kun! We're here!" Kiba called, raising his weapon. The priest's eyes widened in delight, clearly enjoying the chaos. "Ah, devils protecting a devil? How quaint! Let's see what kind of love story this is!"

Rias stepped forward, her crimson hair catching the light. Her eyes narrowed, sharp and deadly. "Ise… are you hurt?" she asked, though her voice carried the warning of a predator. Issei attempted a laugh, brushing it off. "Ah… just a scratch. No big deal." But Rias wasn't fooled. Her gaze shifted to the priest, ice-cold. In the blink of an eye, a section of the furniture exploded behind him—Rias' demonic power unleashed, filling the room with waves of destructive energy. The priest faltered, the smirk on his face flickering for the first time.

"Akeno, Fallen Angels approaching!" Rias warned, the tension in her voice sharp as a blade. "Yes!" Akeno responded immediately, beginning to chant a spell. "Are we running away?" I then look at Asia. "Buchou! We have to take her as well!" I say it to Buchou. "It's impossible. Only Devils can use the magic circle to transport. Also, this magic circle can only teleport me and my servants." N-No… My eyes and Asia's eyes met. She just smiles at me.

"Asia!" "Ise-san, let's meet again." That was the last words we exchanged at this place. Asia faltered, fear overtaking her. Her small shoulders shook, and it looked like despair might swallow her completely. "Isn't this a troublesome situation…"

POV Change - Shirou

Freed spun around, startled, as I stepped into the room. I took a quick look at the area. "Asia, are you a trouble magnet by any chance?" Freed's smile twisted into something colder. "Another devil sympathizer? I'll carve you up more or less the same." He raised the gun-saber, the blue light along the pommel humming with lethal intent.

I didn't give him the satisfaction of a dramatic response. In one smooth motion, I pulled a Black Key from within my coat and threw it. It wasn't aimed to kill. The blade whistled past Freed's ear, close enough for him to feel the displacement of air, and sank into the wall behind him with a solid thunk, the hilt vibrating ominously. He flinched, his manic confidence cracking for a split second.

I kept my voice calm, turning slightly towards Asia. "Asia, how about we leave this place." "L-Leave? You think it'll be that easy!?" Freed shrieked, his composure shattering. He lunged, a wild, telegraphed swing of his light-saber aimed at my head. It was pathetic. After days of being damn near castrated by Medusa and drilled by Ushiwakamaru, this was like watching a child throw a tantrum. I didn't even need to project a weapon. I sidestepped, the heat of the sacred energy washing past me, and caught his extended wrist. Using his own momentum, I twisted hard, forcing a pained yelp from his lips as I drove him face-first into the nearby wall with a sickening crunch.

A new Black Key materialized in my hand. This rabid dog would only cause more suffering. I raised the blade. "No! Please, Shirou-san, don't!" Asia cried, grabbing my arm. "It's wrong! Please don't stain your hands for me!" I looked from her tearful, compassionate face to the groaning priest. He didn't deserve her mercy, but she deserved to keep her kindness. The Black Key dissolved into light. "You're too good for this world," I muttered. I turned my back on him. "Let's go. He's not worth it." Once outside, Asia trembled. "I… I have nowhere to go." "You do now," I said. "My house is pretty big. We have more than enough room." I led her to my house and slid the door open. "We have a guest."

Once Asia was settled with a cup of tea, the initial tension in the room began to thaw. She sat stiffly on the tatami, her eyes wide as she glanced between Ushiwakamaru, who was inspecting her sword with a critical eye, and Medusa, who had silently resumed her book. It was Irisviel who broke the silence. She floated over, her regal white dress a stark contrast to the cozy, traditional room, and knelt before Asia with a warm, motherly smile. "So, you are the one who inspired such chivalry from our Master," she said, her voice like gentle bells. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Asia Argento."

Asia, flustered by the attention and the woman's ethereal beauty, bowed her head slightly. "Y-Yes! Thank you for having me." "Nonsense. Any friend of our Master is welcome here." Irisviel's smile turned slightly mischievous. "Though, to have him bring a girl home… my, my. He is full of surprises." Ushiwakamaru sheathed her blade with a definitive click. "Indeed. To rescue a maiden from a villainous priest is a deed worthy of my master! You have good taste in men, little nun."

Asia's cheeks flushed a bright pink. "O-Oh! It wasn't like that! Shirou-san was just… very kind!" "Was he now?" Irisviel leaned in closer, her smile widening. "And what, precisely, did this 'kindness' entail?" As the two Servants began to playfully tease the flustered nun, her stammers and denials only fueling their amusement, I leaned against the doorframe, watching the scene unfold. The fear in Asia's eyes was slowly being replaced by a bewildered embarrassment.

Medusa, from her corner, glanced up from her book and met my gaze. Though her expression was unreadable behind her blindfold, I could have sworn I saw the faintest hint of a smirk. It seemed the storm had passed, for now. And my home had just gotten significantly more lively.
