Tyler was in his room, looking at the sky, still thinking what that voice meant. his mother came in and sat down close to him, and said to him
''how are you feeling'' said Tyler's mom.
''am not feeling great, dad is dead and you think I will feel good'' Tyler said.
''I know you are still sad your dad is dead, but it's over three weeks now and you need to move on'' said Tyler's mom.
''I can't move on mom, dad was more than a father to me he was like a friend who understood me and always helped me when am feeling down, and you tell me to move on'' Tyler said angrily
Tyler left the room and went down stairs, his mother followed him and sat on the couch with him and embraced him telling him
''it's alright''
The next day Tyler mom came into his room and woke him up and told him
''get up Tyler you have to go to school, you have missed some many classes'' Tyler's mom said.
''am coming mom'' Tyler responded.
Tyler got up and got dressed he had his breakfast before the school bus arrived, he told his mother goodbye and got into the bus. Caleb and his boys saw this and mocked him that his still a little kid his mom kisses him, Tyler ignored them and took a seat and sat down. They got to school and Tyler went to class straight, Amelia saw him and called him, but Tyler didn't answer her until she came close to him and touched him. Tyler turned in anger and said
''what's the problem with you''
''what do you mean, you haven't come to school for the past three weeks now, and you say what's my problem'' Amelia said.
''so what's your business if I didn't come to school for a whole year, look am not in the mood and I want you to leave me alone''
Tyler left angrily, and Amelia was confused, and wonder why he was like this. she followed Tyler to class, and tried to speak to him, but he just ignored her. The class ended, Tyler went to the cafeteria, sat on a seat close to Caleb and his boys, and ate his food there. Amelia still followed him to the cafeteria, and sat on a seat close to him.
''what's wrong with you, you have been avoiding me, and what's the matter with you'' Amelia asked angrily.
''well the matter with me is that, you don't seem to mind your own business, and that's why Caleb didn't care about you anymore'' Tyler said furiously.
The whole students heard this, and looked at Amelia who felt embarrassed, even Caleb laughed with his boys hearing this. As Amelia got up and left Tyler, Caleb said to Amelia mocking her
''that's what you get for leaving me for this stammer boy''
Tyler immediately realized what he had done, and went after Amelia to apologize. He went after her, but couldn't catch up and she went away. The school bell rang, Tyler ran out of the class and went in search of amelia, he went to the basketball court and the tennis lawn both the field, but couldn't find her. He went home sad, on his way home he saw a dark figure in the bush. He went closer and saw Amelia being held by two menacing figure with glowing eyes. They looked dark and powerful. Though Tyler was terrified, he still went into the bush, and as soon the two dark figures saw him they vanished. Amelia quickly got up and was terrified, like she had seen a ghost, Tyler helped her to get out of the bush. She pulled her hand away from Tyler and took her bag and walked, Tyler went after her and telling her to wait. Amelia stopped she looked at Tyler, who was catching his breath after running.
''what do you what now, I thought you said I should mind my business'' Amelia said
''I know, but all of that I said back then wasn't true'' Tyler said. ''I wasn't happy and I wasn't in the mood to talk, my dad died a month ago and it's hard to forget that feeling, he no more around for us''
''am so sorry, I didn't know'' Amelia said
''it's alright, I should be the one apologizing to you because of what I said back then in the cafeteria''. Tyler said apologizing
The two reconciled and walked home together. Tyler got home and saw his mom selling some of his dad stuff, he went over to his mom and asked
''why are you selling dad stuffs''? Tyler asked in concerned
''we need to pay the bill, but I don't have enough money to pay it'' Tyler's mom replied
Tyler went inside the house and saw a lot of his dad stuffs, his eyes fell on a box that had something in it that was glowing bright. He looked and saw his mom attending to a buyer, so he took the box upstairs. He opened the box well, and saw a book that looked ancient, he rumbled through the box and saw a shining ball. It shines so bright, that it covers the whole room. Then a glowing figure from the ball came out and landed in front of him, he was terrified and screamed. The thing also shouted, Tyler's mom came upstairs and asked
''what's the problem, what happened''?
The glowing figure disappeared and Tyler taught of a lie to say
''I just saw a lizard that crept out of my backpack, but it's gone'' Tyler said
Tyler's mom went back downstairs, the glowing figure came back and this time Tyler wasn't afraid.
''who are you or what are you'' Tyler said strangely
The figure turned into a human form
''my name is Kaelos, nice to meet you'' said Kaelos introducing himself
''My name is Tyler, nice to meet you too'' Tyler said
''what do you come from'' Tyler asked
''I come from tenebrous, a land far from what the eyes can see'' Kaelos replied. ''I am a warrior from Tenebrous who was sent to look after you, after the rise of Malakar a dark sorcerer''
''who is Malakar, and what do you mean by looking after me'' Tyler asked in confusion
''Malakar is a ruthless and dark sorcerer, he killed your father after he rose up from the under world and is planning to kill you.'' Kaelos explained
''how am I connected to all of this'' Tyler asked
''you are the son of Alakar, a mighty king who ruled with peace and equinity, until the useless brother took his life away'' Kaelos replied
''they must be a mistake, I only have one father and that's my dad who died a month ago'' Tyler explained
''this people are not your real parents, they are like a foster parents to you'' Kaelos said
''what do you mean'' Tyler asked
''Tenebrous was under attack by Malakar and his demons, your parents sent you and I to this place for your safety'' Kaelos answered. ''I was instructed to take good care of you but on our way, I my spirit got trapped in a shimmering ball and we landed here. This people took you in as their son and took good care of you''
Tyler was confused and didn't know what to say, he asked
''but why is he after me''
''you are the key to the throne, as long as you are alive he cannot properly rule the whole people of Tenebrous'' Kaelos answered
''so what you are trying to say is that I am a prince of Tenebrous'' Tyler asked
''yes my lord'' Kaelos replied
''And it's up to you to kill Malakar and free your people from the hands of darkness'' Kaelos said
''what''
Tyler's mom came in and asked
''who were you talking to''
Tyler looked at Kaelos and noticed that she couldn't see him as he can
''no body, maybe you too stressed that why'' Tyler said
''your right, maybe I should take a break'' Tyler's mom said
She left and Tyler asked
''why couldn't she see you''
''because she is a mortal, and you aren't''
Tyler was still confused at everything, when his mom called him downstairs for dinner. He went downstairs and dined with his mother, he looked at her and the thought of her not being his biological mother seemed unreal. He finished his food and went to bed, Kaelos came and told him
''goodnight''
''goodnight Kaelos''
The next day Tyler went to school, he got to his class and he saw Amelia and went over to her and asked
''how are you doing, after that mysterious meeting'' Tyler said jokingly
Amelia laughed over it and replied
''I feel great now, am no longer terrified anymore''
Kaelos whispered to Tyler's ear and Amelia saw him, she screamed and asked
''who is that behind you''
Tyler was surprised that she could see Kaelos.
''who are you talking about'' Tyler asked
''the person behind you'' amelia asked again
''this is unreal she could see me'' Kaelos said
The conservation between the two ended, when Caleb and his boys came over to them and said to them
''it looks like the two love birds, have gotten back together how cute'' Caleb said with a grin on his face
Tyler wanted to say something, when the teacher came in and all of them went to their seats. As soon as the class was over, Tyler took Amelia to the bleachers, and told her everything. Amelia was shocked and told Tyler
''so you are the prince of tenebrous, those demons were asking me of'' Amelia said
''what demons are you talking about and what where they asking you'' Kaelos asked
''they said something like ''skotos se perimenei'' bring forth the prince of tenebrous'' amelia replied
''we need to act fast, they are coming for you'' Kaelos said worriedly
''what does those words mean''
''it's means DARKNESS AWAITS YOU''
