I had said that I would sleep. But sleep eluded me the whole time I closed my eyes. Even now, I found it difficult to dream of anything I wanted.
But just because my brain did not want to sleep did not mean my body could afford to do the same. It slowly caved to the pressure and I closed my eyes.
When I opened them, I found myself in a beautiful place surrounded by pink, red, and gold. Colors swirled around me and I could instinctively tell that this was not my world.
Despite that, that place felt intimately familiar to me… almost as if I had been there before a hundred, no, thousands of times. Even my breath seemed to freeze.
"It's beautiful, right. Does it feel familiar? I won't be surprised if it does. After all, this is the cradle where you and I were born and everything started. And now, I will make sure this is where everything ends as well."
