Chapter 78 - Isn't This Too Good to Eat?!

Furina, unaware of the shipping, was leisurely enjoying her dinner.

After an afternoon of rehearsal, Furina had become acquainted with the members of the Lake Light Troupe, and perhaps because she was somewhat of an idol to them, their time together was very pleasant.

Moreover, everyone in the entire troupe genuinely loved performing, which surprised Furina a little.

After all, most troupes nowadays were chasing fame and money, and once they gained a little recognition, they'd tour Teyvat, using the excuse of a "Teyvat tour" to make money in various places.

Coupled with the rising popularity of films in recent years, opera had gradually become less popular than before.

After all, compared to opera, the barrier to watching a film was much, much lower, and compared to the somewhat expensive tickets for watching opera at the Opera House, watching a film was much cheaper.

Furthermore, compared to opera, the barrier for actors was also lower; if one take wasn't good enough, they could just film another, allowing for many opportunities to make mistakes, whereas opera actors could not make a single mistake; they must perform flawlessly on stage in one go.

In fact, according to Furina's understanding, many troupes had even directly transformed, changing from "XX Troupe" to "XX Film Industry."

Even the people from the "Fontaine Film Association" added an extra "Chiling Film Festival" on the day of the "Chiling Festival."

Hmm... speaking of which, she even named that award the "Furina Award."

Film had been steadily flourishing, but opera had remained stagnant, and there hadn't been any good opera productions for a long time...

Although most playwrights in Fontaine were still creating, the majority of what they created were film scripts, with fewer and fewer people writing traditional opera scripts.

Presumably, opera might become increasingly desolate in the future, right?

Furina sighed softly. To be honest, she was a little disappointed. After all, opera had accompanied her for five hundred years, but now it was slowly fading, which made Furina feel somewhat emotional.

Old things would gradually be replaced by new things, so... what about her?

People always got suddenly dejected at times, and Furina was no exception.

Although the dessert in front of her was delicious, Furina found it hard to eat.

She first looked around, and after making sure there was no one else, Furina looked at Liu Yuan.

Liu Yuan, noticing Furina's gaze, was slightly puzzled, her eyes seemingly asking what was wrong.

However, Furina didn't answer. Instead, she put down the spoon she was using to eat dessert, then opened her arms and whispered to Liu Yuan:

"Hug..."

Liu Yuan was slightly stunned, then nodded gently.

Her true form gradually revealed itself, then she gently leaned down, reached out, picked up Furina, and then sat back down herself.

Furina buried her face deep in Liu Yuan's neck, inhaling her unique and pleasant scent. A strong sense of security welled up in her heart, dispelling much of the fatigue from rehearsal.

"What's wrong?"

One hand held Furina's waist, while the other gently stroked her head.

She sensed that Furina seemed a little dejected, which made Liu Yuan somewhat worried.

"Liu Yuan... if I become outdated in the future, will you stop liking me?"

"Outdated?"

"It's just... well... what if I'm not as good as I am now, and I might become unpopular? Will you stop liking me, or even dislike me? After all, it seems you can exist without me now... If I make you angry in the future, will you just leave and ignore me?"

Liu Yuan was slightly stunned, then the hand holding Furina tightened slightly.

"No..."

Her answer was as calm as ever, but one could hear the determination in her words.

"...Absolutely not."

Liu Yuan seemed to feel that saying it once wasn't enough, so she repeated it again. This time, the seriousness in her tone was undisguised.

The earnest words made Furina feel at ease. She sat up slightly, then looked at Liu Yuan seriously:

"No... you can't go back on your word, okay? No matter what happens in the future, you can't leave me! Understand?!"

Her stubborn tone made Liu Yuan feel a bit familiar; it seemed the last time Furina acted this way was when she made her promise to be responsible for her for life.

"I promised you, I will be responsible for you for life."

Her deep blue eyes were full of sincerity, and a strong sense of security welled up in Furina's heart — but she couldn't quite handle it!

Looking at Liu Yuan's serious gaze, Furina's cheeks couldn't help but slowly turn red again. She slightly averted her eyes, then buried herself in Liu Yuan's arms again.

"Ugh..."

Emitting a few indistinct whimpers, Furina decided to hug her a little longer, at least until the blush on her face disappeared, otherwise Liu Yuan would see it...

However, unknowingly, the fatigue from the afternoon rehearsal, coupled with the strong sense of security by Liu Yuan's side, caused Furina to fall asleep again without realizing it.

Feeling Furina's spirit becoming more and more stable, Liu Yuan gently picked her up, intending to take her back to Palais Mermonia. However, just as she was about to leave, she suddenly remembered something. The alchemical matrix instantly appeared and disappeared in an instant, then a note with a line of text fell.

Furina had said that she would say goodbye to the Lake Light Troupe after dinner, but now...

Holding Furina, Liu Yuan's figure disappeared, leaving only a note on the chair where she had been sitting, meant as a farewell.

"She fell asleep, I've taken her back. — Yuan"

On the other side, the members of the Lake Light Troupe, noticing Furina's sudden disappearance, came looking for her and naturally found the note.

"Has Miss Yuan already taken Lady Furina back? What a pity, we didn't even get to say goodbye..." Griel said with slight regret.

"Don't we still have a chance to say it tomorrow? We'll be rehearsing with Lady Furina for the next month, barring any unforeseen circumstances," Milos comforted.

"Indeed, you're right! Hmm... Lady Furina won't be here until tomorrow afternoon. Is it alright if we gather tomorrow morning? We can come early to address some of the issues Lady Furina mentioned this afternoon. Any objections, everyone?" Griel looked around.

"None!"

"We'll follow your lead, Director."

"Perfectly fine."

Everyone nodded in agreement, then Griel looked at Noria.

"Noria, for the costumes, go directly to Chioriya Boutique to customize them. Funding is not an issue. As for props, don't rush too much, just prepare the ones we'll use for the initial rehearsals..."

Griel spoke to Noria, but found that Noria seemed to be in a daze. Losoria quickly nudged her, and Noria finally reacted as if waking from a dream.

"Ah... Okay! Understood, Director! I guarantee I'll complete the task!"

Griel rubbed his forehead, a little helpless.

"Noria, try to be a bit more serious..."

"Understood, Director! But I was just thinking about some things..."

"Alright then, just remember to go to Chioriya Boutique and invite Chiori over to customize the costumes for the performance."

"Okay! I'll go first thing tomorrow morning!"

Griel nodded, then continued to assign tasks.

But Noria's gaze was involuntarily drawn to the note.

— Isn't this just too shippable?!
