Adam was in a bind, he wasn't that good at speeches and what would he say in the speech anyways? That we'll grow stronger together? Pfft that's ridiculous.
With a heavy sigh Adam stood up from his seat and just glanced around the hall and saw people starring at him.
"Let's get this over with."
Adam walked towards the center of the stage with confidence and he could feel the stares all around him.
He arrived at the podium and the Vice-Headmaster was right next to him eager to hear what he'll say.
Adam took a deep breath looked over the people and said:
"I'm not good with words so I'll only say a few things"
Everyone leaned in to hear what he'll say, will he motivate his peers? Will he try to be a leader but what came out his mouth surprised everyone.
"In each year until I graduate from this academy... Only I will be no.1,"
Adam said so he didn't even linger and just went down the stand towards where he was sitting and didn't say anything else.
Silence lingered throughout the hall, everyone was still in shock then one voice broke through the silence:
"WHATTT!?"
( While Adam was giving his speech )
At the center of the stage stood Adam the apex, his long silver hair with violet strands cascading down their back like a river of moonlight. His piercing yellow-golden eyes shone with confidence as he prepared to address the assembly.
As he began his speech his voice echoed through the hall and what surprised them was that he didn't try to motivate the new students he just only elevated himself. However not everyone's attention was focused solely on Adam's words.
There was Kael, a cunning student with a reputation of manipulation and he was the Apex of the 2nd years a peak C ranked awakened, he watched Adam with an intensity that bordered on obsession.
His eyes gleamed with a mixture of fascination and calculation, as he weighed the potential benefits of aligning himself with Adams power and influence.
Nearby, Adam's sister Sidney and her right-hand Lysandra observed the scene with an air of detached interest. Her gaze flicked between Adam and Kael, her expression a mask of polite curiosity. ("How did you get this strong little brother?") She thought.
She found Adam intriguing, but her true focus lay in understanding the dynamics at play, and how she might leverage them to her advantage.
On the periphery of the gathering, Luke stood with an air of calm calculation. ("His aura is that of a peak D ranked awakened but his display of strength surpasses that, your an interesting one Adam").
His eyes narrowed as he watched Adam, Kael and Lysandra, his mind working overtime to assess the potential outcomes of their interactions.
Luke was a master of reading people and situations, and he knew the key to success lay in understanding the motivations and desires of those around him.
As Adam concluded his speech which completely bewildered the masses, Kael's eyes locked onto his, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
Adam sensed the challenge, he met Kael's gaze with a steady, unyielding stare.
The air seemed to vibrate with tension, and the crowd held its collective breath, anticipating the next move in this intricate dance of power and influence.
The stage was set for a confrontation, and the outcome would depend on the cunning, charisma and magical prowess of the players involved.
Kael approached Adam his stride calm and calculated he stood next to him and flashed a smile smile extending his hand.
"So your the new Apex of the first years, I'm Kael Apex of the second years nice to meet you."
Adam stood there looking at the extended hand and he then realized white Kael tried to do. Adam also flashed a smile meeting his hand "Adam".
The moment their hands connected Kael's mana surged as it tried to probe Adam and his arm strength increased.
Adam noticed this and flashed a wide grin his own mana countered completely blocking off the probe attempt with minimal effort and he also increased the strength of his hold.
Kael twitched as he felt a ping of pain of his hand both of the mana surged looking to overpower the other.
Adam's mana surged further completely engulfing Kael's as he felt his own arm break.
Crack!
A cracking sound could be heard as Kael moved his hand away swiftly clutching it as he knew it's bones were broken.
He face was filled with confusion and anger but knowing the location and situation he didn't press on further but would remember this day.
"It seems your strength is worthy of that title I shall now take my leave" he said
Kael moved away from the scene and went out of the hall, those who knew him and how he acted knew that this wouldn't end here.
(Xandro's POV)
Xandros, a student with an unassuming appearance, blended into the crowd as he watched Adam with keen intent and suspicion.
His eyes, shrouded by a mop of messy brown hair, narrowed as he studied Adam's every move, he watched the whole confrontation between Adam and Kael as a smirk played on his lips.
A member of the Clandrine demon organization, Kyrexis, an organization that's connected to the outer god's and has been planning it's moves and end the whole stability of the world.
Xandros had infiltrated the academy to gather intelligence and await the perfect moment for them to strike.
As Adam spoke, Xandro's gaze flickered between their face and the surrounding crowd, searching for any sign of weakness or vulnerability.
His thoughts were a jumble of calculations and strategies, weighing the potential benefits of exploiting the Apex's power against the risks of discovery.
Xandro's loyalty lay with Kyrexis, and he would stop at nothing to fulfill his mission. The Apex's charisma and confidence only heightened Xandro's sense of unease, and he found himself wondering what secrets lay hidden beneath their polished exterior.
With a subtle nod, Xandros committed the Apex's words and actions to memory, his mind racing with ways to utilize this information to further Kyrexis's goals. As the ceremony drew to a close, Xandros melted into the crowd, his eyes never leaving the Apex's figure as he vanished into the sea of students.
