Chapter 26 - land of the titans

The white wall wrapped itself around Mike and he saw nothing but a bright white light, though only for about three seconds. Suddenly a gray overwhelming light shot across his eyes, the air turned heavy, and Mike found himself next to Ice again, who was staring in awe."Mike, look at that."Ice pointed forward."Hm, what ar—"

It was breathtaking. Six large statues stood in a row, divided into three on each side, all kneeling before a massive throne. The throne had a golden color with a bit of gray at the top. The statues looked like guardians, most likely."Should we go there?" Mike asked and pointed at the throne.

Mike and Ice first looked around a bit and had to realize where they actually were. It seemed they were somewhere on a mountain, on a large open platform, not inside any structure. They could see the gray sky. So they approached the throne hall. But as they took another step forward, two of the large statues suddenly rose. Each was equipped with a sword. They charged at the two humans immediately.

Ice shouted across to Mike."Watch out, the statues!"

Mike jumped in shock, eyes wide. He raised one hand, opened his palm, and summoned his sword from his inventory. Mike shot forward, leaving behind a black streak like a shadow. The statues burst into dust in less than five seconds. And because Mike was already moving, he did not stop and sprinted straight toward the other four statues.

Mike jumped high and sliced the stone heads of the four statues clean off. They all shattered at the same time. Mike stopped in front of the throne and brushed some dust off his face."All good again!" he said with a smile toward Ice.

She nodded but kept her sword firmly in her hand, sensing something. Her instinct was correct. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a massive foot crashed down from the sky. And then a second one. Mike looked up. The entire platform was nearly covered by the mysterious titan."Boss battle?"He turned to Ice."Ice, watch out, a boss battle!"

Ice dashed forward, jumped, and with all her strength struck her sword against the titan's foot, but as expected, it caused no damage. The titan responded immediately. He lifted the foot Ice was on and kicked forward. Ice plummeted, crashing into the ground at high speed. Dirt flew everywhere."Ice!" Mike shouted and ran forward.

But he was not aiming for the feet. He wanted the head, even though the titan's stony gray head was not even visible. Mike wanted to climb up to it. He darted out from under the titan as it tried to crush him with a stomp, but with a last second jump to the right he barely escaped. Then he jumped again and landed on the titan's foot, sprinting upward at high speed.

The titan was not pleased. A huge hand emerged from the sky and tried to grab Mike, but he sliced the stone hand in half with a single cut."No thanks!"

He did not let it slow him down. He continued running upward. After about two minutes, Mike reached the titan's head. He studied the mythical creature. A bit of moss on the forehead, a very petrified face, almost human looking. Well, almost.

Mike jumped even higher now that he had reached the head. He rose into the air above the titan, aimed his blade downward and dove. The titan had no chance to dodge and had to endure the full force of Mike's attack. By now Mike had grown so powerful that he split the titan into two stone halves. As Mike tore through the stony layer, he soon saw the ground approaching again.

The huge titan instantly crumbled into dust. A massive cloud of dust drifted away, carried by the wind. Mike pulled his weapon back into the inventory and stared in disbelief. He had actually defeated such a giant titan on his own without any real difficulty. To be honest, it had even been very easy.(Defeated elite stone titan)

"I get nothing?"It seemed Mike checked again, and something did appear. Not an item. A text. No, a quest.(Titan King quest reach the titan king reward armor of the titans)

"Hm, a new armor. Well, my hyper scale is really not enough anymore. If that titan had hit me with its kick, I would probably be smashed flat by now," Mike muttered to himself.

But he felt as if he had forgotten something."Ice!"Right, that was it. Ice had been injured.

Mike looked around and quickly noticed a small hole in the ground. Inside was the unconscious girl. He knew she was badly hurt but luckily still alive. He carried her out immediately and set her down in front of him. He sat beside her and waited for her to recover.

After about two hours, Mike heard the familiar words coming from the girl."Hello? Helloooo?"

Mike had fallen asleep. He jerked awake."Hm, uh, yes?"Then he realized what had happened."Oh, I fell asleep. Sorry. Are you feeling better again?" he asked with a smile.

"Um, yes, I think so," she answered shyly. She was fine again and her life bar was full, now maximized. But she still had numbers instead of a bar. Mike did not dare to ask. He did not want to risk anything, so he left it alone and was simply relieved she was healthy again.

Mike stood up and looked at the horizon."So, shall we go to the titan king?"

Ice smiled, but she actually dared to ask."Mike, how did you become so strong so quickly? I know you fought a bit, but it is impossible to get that strong so fast."

Mike went silent. He honestly did not know how to answer. Ice seemed to notice the uncomfortable pause and quickly added,"Sorry, it is none of my business!"She smiled quickly to cover the awkward moment.

Mike simply smiled back."Well, I guess I ate a lot."

Ice laughed, then after about twenty seconds her expression became a bit more serious again."You mentioned something about the titan king?"

Mike nodded."Yes, I received something. I think our next goal is to move straight ahead and look for the king."

Ice nodded as well and became quiet. She had nothing more to say, so Mike asked again,"So, shall we go?"
